Director, Growth AI

F. Schumacher & Co.New York, NY

About The Position

F. Schumacher & Co. is a fast-growing and innovative interior design company, a technological leader on the design frontier, driven by a shared belief that design transforms life. FSCO is the parent company to many brands, with this role being part of Schumacher North America, the largest division. Schumacher designs and produces fabrics, wallcoverings, trims, furniture, and accessories, united by a passion for design, a thirst for what is next, an appreciation for what’s come before, and a drive for meticulous production. The company has myriad showrooms in the United States and nationally, as well as a best-in-class website. The Director, Growth & AI role is for a consultant deeply invested in AI, curious about its future capabilities, and impatient with organizations that aren't. The ideal candidate possesses sharp analytical instincts, a bias for action, and a proactive approach to strategy implementation. This role involves identifying opportunities, building business cases, directing AI agents for execution, measuring results, and feeding insights back into decision-making, owning the full loop with P&L impact. Schumacher & Co is described as a 135-year-old start-up at the intersection of craft and innovation, reimagining growth through modern AI.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, or a comparable role with strong analytical foundations
  • Proven ability to move from insight to action: you don't just identify what's wrong, you figure out how to fix it and see it through
  • Active, working familiarity with AI tools and a genuine interest in pushing the boundaries of what they can do in a business context
  • Exceptional communicator: you can translate complex analysis into clear recommendations for a senior audience
  • High comfort with ambiguity. You define your own structure and hold yourself accountable to outcomes, not just activity
  • Collaborative and low-ego. Equally at home in a working session with an ops team as in a leadership review

Responsibilities

  • Use AI to monitor performance across channels, products, and customer segments surfacing opportunities and anomalies before they're obvious.
  • Build analytical models that separate signal from noise and give you genuine confidence in what's driving results (and where to accelerate!)
  • Translate data into a prioritized opportunity map knowing which levers move the P&L and which are distraction.
  • Construct tight business cases: financial models, scenario analyses, and board-ready materials, leveraging AI to compress the time it takes to get there without sacrificing quality.
  • Pressure-test your own recommendations before they reach the room.
  • Direct a fleet of AI agents, assigning work, setting standards, reviewing outputs, holding the operation accountable to results.
  • Build the workflows and automated systems that turn a good idea into a running machine, repeatable, scalable, and durable beyond any single person.
  • Track outcomes with discipline and report back to senior leadership with clarity: what worked, what didn't, what we do differently next time.
  • Feed performance learnings back into the analytical models so the next round of strategy is sharper than the last.
