The Director, Group Sales at Fairmont Austin is responsible for developing, implementing, maximizing, monitoring, and evaluating the objectives, business strategies, and activities of Sales Managers and Executive Meeting Managers to exceed forecasted revenue figures across all hotel-related revenue streams. This role involves participating in trade shows and promotional events to identify prospective customers and develop new markets. Key responsibilities include controlling contract processing based on rate negotiation, handling designated key accounts/markets, and reviewing company accounts' room nightly production reports to ensure sales objectives are achieved. The Director is also tasked with building and leading an organized, motivated, and cohesive sales team, driving their effectiveness, monitoring weekly sales activities, and providing ongoing direction and training. The position requires working collaboratively with Senior Executives and the Corporate Headquarter team, while adhering to the brand's overall vision and hotel policies and procedures.
