About The Position

The Director, Global Tax Operations is responsible for managing and executing the Company’s worldwide tax reporting, compliance, and global income tax provision process under ASC 740, including quarterly and annual reporting, effective tax rate (ETR) management, and tax-related financial disclosures. This role coordinates and ensures the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of global tax reporting processes and supports continuous improvement in systems, controls, and reporting efficiency. This role partners closely with, Controllership, FP&A, Internal Audit and external advisors to support accurate financial reporting and maintain strong internal controls across the global tax reporting function. A significant focus will be on optimizing data and technology in all Tax workstreams to enhance accuracy and drive efficiencies across the Global Tax function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
  • CPA required
  • 10+ years of progressive tax experience, including significant focus on global tax provision under ASC 740 and global tax reporting
  • Experience in a multinational public company environment preferred
  • Big 4 experience strongly preferred
  • Deep expertise in ASC 740, including deferred taxes, valuation allowances, and uncertain tax positions
  • Strong understanding of U.S. international tax concepts (e.g., GILTI, FTC, BEAT, Subpart F) and their financial reporting implications.
  • Experience with tax provision software (e.g., OneSource) and ERP/consolidation systems
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage complex, global processes and competing deadlines.
  • Proven ability to drive process improvements and transformation initiatives.
  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret complex financial and tax data.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manages global ETR, including forecasting, variance analysis, and communication to senior leadership.
  • Leads end-to-end quarterly and annual global income tax provision process in accordance with ASC 740; manage current and deferred tax calculations, valuation allowances, and uncertain tax positions (FIN 48); analyze the ETR and perform return-to-provision true-ups.
  • Monitors global tax legislation changes, assessing their impact and providing strategic recommendations.
  • Directs the preparation and review of tax-related disclosures for Forms 10-Q and 10-K; ensure compliance with reporting standards, such as ASU 2023-09.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for external auditors regarding tax provision and SOX controls; mitigate risk by maintaining robust internal controls.
  • Oversees the timely filing of all US Federal and state income tax returns; manage tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring alignment between international worldwide corporate income tax filings ensuring accuracy in filings and related return to provision adjustments.
  • Leads the consolidation of global tax results, including U.S. and non-U.S. jurisdictions, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and adherence to reporting timelines.
  • Coordinates with Controllership and external auditors to support audits of tax provision and disclosures; ensure alignment with accounting policy changes, new tax legislation, and emerging guidance impacting tax accounting.
  • Establishes, maintains, and enhances internal controls over tax reporting (SOX compliance), ensuring documentation, review, and audit readiness standard are consistently met.
  • Implements best practices and standardization across jurisdictions to improve efficiency and scalability, focusing on optimizing data and technology throughout Tax Department processes and workstreams.
  • Supports tax planning and business transactions by assessing impacts on ETR and financial reporting.
