About The Position

The Director, Global Process Owner & Enabling Capabilities, Systems is a strategic leadership role responsible for owning and advancing global procurement process ownership and the systems, tools, and digital capabilities that enable scalable, compliant, and insight‑driven procurement operations across DePuy Synthes These are Supplier & Category Excellence; Technology, Data & Actionable Insights; and Organizational Agility. In addition, this role will drive the governance, proactive development and enhancement of the end-to-end procurement process across the enterprise. This leader serves as the end‑to‑end Global Process Owner for procurement capabilities, partnering closely with sub-process owners, process leaders, stakeholders, and peer process owners to ensure effective and efficient streamlining of process operations and identification and leverage of cross-process synergies. Ensures continuous improvement of the accountable processes and is accountable for ensuring process compliance with all relevant legislation and company procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field).
  • Minimum 10–12 years of progressive experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Commercial Operations, or Systems Enablement within a regulated or complex enterprise environment.
  • 8+ years procurement experience, including ownership of procurement processes, capabilities, or operating models.
  • Proven experience leading enterprise‑scale systems supporting procurement, contracting, pricing, or commercial enablement.
  • Experience serving as or partnering with a Global Process Owner or equivalent role driving standardization across regions.
  • Strong understanding of regulated environments (MedTech, healthcare, or similar industries).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross‑functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders.
  • People leadership experience, including talent development and performance management.
  • English required.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with enterprise platforms such as contract lifecycle management (CLM), ERP, pricing, analytics, and CRM‑adjacent tools.
  • Experience working in matrixed, global organizations.
  • Change management and large‑scale system or process implementation experience.
  • Project or program leadership experience across digital or process transformation initiatives.
  • Project management or systems certifications (e.g., PMP, Agile, ITIL) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Global Process Owner (GPO) for procurement processes, with accountability for global standardization, governance, and continuous improvement.
  • Own the strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle management of systems supporting procurement, contracting, pricing, analytics, and related enablement capabilities.
  • Accountable for and drive process transformation and in partnership with the Global Operations delivery organization, make key decisions related to the process, including target setting, process performance management, and financial management with a focus on reducing process costs, increasing efficiency and cycle time, and maximizing investment returns
  • Drive global deployment and adoption of end-to-end process, with regional and local requirements customization as required
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for an ongoing training methodology and program for the implemented processes, systems, and policies in collaboration with the business, corporate and Operational Services
  • Lead procurement capability building ownership, ensuring processes, systems, and tools enable scalable, compliant, and efficient global procurement operations.
  • Partner cross‑functionally with Procurement, IT, Commercial Operations, Finance, and Legal to translate business requirements into scalable system and process solutions.
  • Collaborate across all tiers of the procurement operating model, all enabling functions at DPS and external organizations (suppliers, consultants, thought leaders) to deliver these accountabilities.
  • Oversee implementation, enhancement, and optimization of enterprise platforms (e.g., contract lifecycle management, pricing, analytics, and adjacent CRM tools).
  • Ensure data integrity, governance, and reporting capabilities that support compliance, performance measurement, and executive decision‑making.
  • Drive process standardization, simplification, and automation through digital enablement and best‑practice procurement design.
  • Lead change management, user adoption, and training strategies to maximize system and process effectiveness globally.
  • Manage external vendors and technology partners, including performance, delivery, and cost management.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high‑performing team aligned with DePuy Synthes values and leadership expectations.
