About The Position

Sims Lifecycle Services (SLS) is a global leader in IT asset and cloud infrastructure reuse, redeployment, recycling, and refining. They serve global clients across various industries to securely and responsibly recycle and manage the disposition of IT equipment and electronic products. Their asset management and recovery service enables businesses to meet social and legal obligations in the treatment of surplus electronics in a legally compliant, data secure, fully traceable, and environmentally sustainable manner. SLS is seeking a Director, Global Organizational Capability & Leadership to join their team at their Irvine, California headquarters. This role will report to the Chief People Officer and will be responsible for building and strengthening organizational, leadership, and workforce capabilities to support a growing global business. The position will shape how leaders are developed, workforce readiness is accelerated, and the learning culture required for operational excellence, innovation, and long-term growth is created. As a key member of the global HR leadership team, this role will partner with business leaders across operations, commercial, engineering, and digital functions to design scalable capability frameworks, leadership programs, and learning strategies that align talent development with business priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in organizational development, leadership development, learning strategy, talent management, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated success designing and implementing enterprise-wide capability and leadership development strategies.
  • Experience supporting global organizations through growth, transformation, and change initiatives.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior leaders and drive enterprise-wide adoption.
  • Proven ability to translate business strategy into scalable people, leadership, and capability solutions.
  • Strong analytical, consulting, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a global capability strategy that aligns workforce skills and leadership capabilities with business objectives.
  • Partner with leaders to identify future capability requirements and build development solutions that support growth, transformation, and innovation.
  • Establish frameworks and metrics to measure organizational readiness, capability growth, and internal talent mobility.
  • Design and embed leadership frameworks that strengthen leadership effectiveness at all levels of the organization.
  • Support succession planning and leadership pipeline development to ensure long-term organizational strength.
  • Coach and enable leaders to successfully lead teams through change and transformation.
  • Create modern learning approaches that combine digital, experiential, and on-the-job development opportunities.
  • Partner with learning and business leaders to build structured development pathways for leadership, technical, and functional talent.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and capability growth across the organization.
  • Lead the people and capability aspects of strategic transformation initiatives, including technology adoption, automation, and process improvements.
  • Develop change leadership capabilities that improve agility, accountability, and adoption of new ways of working.
  • Leverage workforce insights and engagement data to strengthen culture, collaboration, and performance.
