About The Position

Provide project management, direction and oversight to the Global Engineering Programs department. Coordinate facility and utility projects to ensure adherence to AbbVie Standards and Specifications. Develop resource plans for approved projects and make recommendations regarding use of internal and/or external resources for projects/facility planning, design and execution. Establish and maintain appropriate relationships with external engineering and construction organizations, including Architect/Engineering, Construction Management, Consulting and Contractor firms, in order to meet project design, schedule, cost and quality requirements. Manage and leverage common engineering systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree: Engineering or Architecture.
  • 10- 15 years experience as Manager, Project Engineering required

  • Masters Degree: Master of Management or Master in Business Administration, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for all processes, policies and procedures related to Capital and Facilities Planning, Engineering Best practices and Systems and the Engineering Center of Excellence.
  • Define and document expectations related to Good Engineering Practice and Project Execution Methodology. Track project execution for targeted projects and report performance metrics
  • Responsible for strategic planning and facility asset utilization for AbbVie corporate wide including LRP facilities/space master planning
  • Responsible for AbbVie-wide capital planning process (Plan and LRP) for major (>$5MM) investments in Facilities/Utilities/Equipment
  • Conduct and record benchmarking of project management best practices within AbbVie, professional associations, A/E firms, and other peer companies
  • Provide and oversee discipline specific engineering expertise to corporate wide stakeholders through AbbVie's Technical Experts group
  • Accountable for overall Engineering Capital Plan of approximately $400MM. Accountable for the department’s payroll and expense budget, including outside contractor services.
