The Global Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing EHS strategies, programs, and policies across all Dover Fuelling Solutions (DFS) sites worldwide. This role ensures global compliance with applicable environmental regulations, occupational health standards, and safety requirements while promoting a proactive culture of safety and sustainability throughout the organization. The Director will work closely with local site EHS leaders, operations, legal, HR, and external stakeholders, including Dover Corporate EHS, to reduce risk, drive performance improvements, and align global EHS initiatives with Dover objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
  • Over 15+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a global or multi-site manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience in successfully building and leading teams and developing talent across a global EHS function
  • Professional certifications strongly preferred (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM, NEBOSH, or equivalent).
  • Comprehensive understanding of worldwide EHS laws, standards, and frameworks.
  • Proven success in deploying EHS management systems across widespread teams.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to influence across various functions and cultures.
  • Proven experience in crisis management, incident response, and regulatory interactions.
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 30% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of DFS’s global EHS strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Develops strategic plans in collaboration with business and functional needs
  • Implement KPI’s to ensure compliance with strategic safety incidents goals for DFS
  • Establish and maintain global EHS standards, policies, and procedures across all manufacturing, office, and distribution facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with international, national, and local EHS regulations.
  • Provide direction and operational guidance to build and foster a safety culture committed to safe work practices, health and wellness, incident and accident prevention, regulatory compliance, and environmental management and sustainability
  • Oversee EHS team and safety leaders at sites, providing training, direction, and support, data analysis reports, regulatory interpretations and guidance on all safety and health policies and programs of critical importance to overall corporate objectives, operations, and profitability
  • Partner with EHS site leaders to assess risk, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental performance.
  • Monitor and report EHS performance metrics (lagging and leading indicators) and prepare regular updates for senior leadership.
  • Lead global incident investigation processes, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions are effectively implemented and shared globally.
  • Manage and audit third-party vendors, contractors, and consultants to ensure compliance with company EHS policies.
  • Champion sustainability initiatives including waste reduction, energy efficiency, environmental stewardship, and climate action planning.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs across sites to strengthen the safety culture and ensure awareness and compliance.
  • Serve as the primary contact for global regulatory bodies, audits, and certifications.
  • Stay current on global EHS trends, regulatory changes, and emerging best practices.
