Director, Global Commercial FP&A

uniQureLexington, KY
$205,000 - $265,000

About The Position

This newly created role acts as the lead finance business partner for the global Customer & Strategy organization (including Commercial, Market Access, Medical Affairs and Business Operations) with a primary focus on the US market and key ex-US markets. Its primary focus is partnering with the business: reviewing monthly results and variance to budget, and owning the forecast, annual budget, long-range plan (LRP) and standing up these planning processes and the reporting that supports them. The role also ensures the finance IT systems are configured to meet the function's needs. Finally, the role will be a key partner in GTN (Gross-to-Net) modeling, COGS allocation and revenue recognition.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics or related field; MBA and/or CPA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Demonstrated experience building commercial finance infrastructure from the ground up.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP and, ideally, enterprise planning systems (e.g., SAP or NetSuite, SAC, Anaplan or Adaptive Planning)
  • Knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition, pricing, reimbursement, government pricing and price reporting (AMP, ASP, Best Price, 340B), distribution channel economics (buy-and-bill vs. specialty pharmacy), and commercial contracting.
  • Experience supporting launch-stage or commercial-stage biotechnology companies is essential.
  • Strong partnership experience with Accounting, Supply Chain, Commercial, Medical Affairs, Market Access and Business Operations. The successful individual will operate with an enterprise mindset.
  • You will bring a solid background in strategic leadership with strong commercial acumen and high attention to detail.
  • A background in financial modeling and analytics, process design and transformation and presenting at the executive level is essential.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting international or multi-market commercial finance — or a demonstrated ability to extend US frameworks to new geographies — is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as lead finance partner to the global Customer & Strategy teams, with a primary focus on the US and key ex-US markets.
  • Own the monthly budget performance review with business leaders — analyzing actuals, explaining variance to budget and forecast, and translating drivers into actions.
  • Lead annual budget, forecast, long-range planning and scenario analysis across the global Customer & Strategy organization in close partnership with the Business Insights team (owner of the gross revenue and patient forecast), Market Access (GTN), C&S Business Leaders (OPEX) and Accounting (actuals)
  • Partner with Market Access and Accounting to design, implement and govern the Gross-to-Net (GTN) process, including deduction assumptions, accruals and reserves, true-ups, and the cross-functional review and sign-off cadence.
  • Work closely with the Accounting team to implement ASC 606 revenue recognition policies and controls.
  • Build scalable commercial finance processes, SOPs, SOX-ready controls and reporting infrastructure.
  • Support and enhance existing finance systems and lead the evaluation and implementation of new tools to scale the function as needed.
  • Support launch readiness and future product commercialization activities as needed
  • Build the finance infrastructure, reporting and processes required to support entry into new international markets.
  • Prepare executive and Board-level presentations and analytics.
