This role is for DePuy Synthes, a planned standalone orthopedics company. The Director, Global Redeployment will lead the development and execution of a global redeployment capability focused on optimizing orthopedic asset utilization, enabling capital-efficient growth, and supporting market demand through the compliant movement and refurbishment of sets across global markets. This role is responsible for leading the end-to-end redeployment process, including identification of excess assets within markets, coordination of global pullback activities, refurbishment execution, and allocation prioritization through Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) governance. The position will work cross-functionally with Commercial, Supply Chain, Distribution Operations, Quality, Regulatory, Finance, Tax, Trade Compliance, and Systems teams to establish scalable and compliant global redeployment processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Technical, or Operations subject areas preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in Supply Chain Planning, S&OP, Demand Planning, or Inventory Management or other Business roles.
  • Strong analytical capability to understand sophisticated demand planning topics, identify patterns and drivers, and implement data-driven changes to improve forecast accuracy and reliability.
  • Strong communication, advocacy, and decision-making skills with the ability to collaborate across geographies in a complex, matrix environment.
  • People leadership skills, including the ability to develop and lead diverse teams while fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Proven expertise in process management and leading cross-functional global projects.
  • Demonstrated financial acuity, with the ability to link operational decisions to business financial outcomes, including cost optimization and capital efficiency.
  • English required; additional languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, deployment, and continuous improvement of the global redeployment operating model.
  • Establish standardized processes, governance, KPIs, and operational procedures for redeployment activities.
  • Partner with regional and market leadership teams to align redeployment priorities with commercial growth and inventory optimization objectives.
  • Lead teams responsible for partnering with market asset management and commercial organizations to identify excess or underutilized assets for redeployment.
  • Oversee pullback planning and execution into designated global redeployment hubs.
  • Partner with distribution operations teams to execute refurbishment, replenishment, inspection, and redeployment preparation activities.
  • Ensure operational readiness and scalable processes for redeployment execution.
  • Drive operational performance related to turnaround time, throughput, and asset availability.
  • Lead redeployment prioritization and allocation processes through S&OE governance forums.
  • Partner with planning and commercial teams to ensure redeployable assets are allocated effectively to maximize business value and customer support.
  • Lead collaboration with Quality, Regulatory, Finance, Tax, Trade Compliance, and Systems teams to establish compliant redeployment transaction frameworks.
  • Ensure redeployment activities comply with applicable regulatory, quality, and cross-border trade requirements.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs related to redeployment execution, asset utilization, inventory optimization, and refurbishment performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cycle time reduction, capital efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
  • Develop executive-level reporting and performance visibility for senior leadership.
