About The Position

The Director, GH&B Strategy & Strategic Planning serves as the strategic backbone of the Global Hospital & Biosimilars (GH&B) business. This role is accountable for shaping, maintaining, and advancing a coherent GH&B strategic plan, ensuring clarity of strategic direction which enables aligned decision-making across the GH&B leadership team and long-range value creation. This is a high-visibility, high-impact individual contributor role reporting directly to the GH&B Portfolio & Lifecycle Management Lead. Reporting to the GH&B Portfolio & Lifecycle Management Lead operates as a high-impact, trusted integrator and thought partner to the GH&B leadership team by providing strategic clarity, synthesis, and enterprise context to shape the business — not manage day-to-day execution. The role ensures strategic rigor, coherence, and alignment across portfolio, lifecycle, business development, transformation and operations. Key elements of the role include: Ownership of the GH&B strategic plan and its integration across portfolio, lifecycle, and business development pillars Development and maintenance of a compelling, consistent strategic narrative for GH&B leadership and enterprise audiences Strategic planning process design and facilitation, including long-range planning cycles and annual strategy refresh Synthesis of competitive intelligence, market dynamics, and enterprise signals into actionable strategic guidance Cross-functional coherence — ensuring strategy, transformation, and operations are pointed in the same direction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 8 years of experience; OR a master's degree with at least 7 years of experience; OR a PhD with 5+ years of experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the generics, multisource, or broader pharmaceutical industry, including familiarity with portfolio dynamics, market structure, and competitive economics.
  • Proven track record developing corporate strategic plans, strategic narratives, and executive-level strategic materials.
  • Strong analytical and synthesis capability — able to move from ambiguous inputs to clear, structured recommendations.
  • Exceptional communicator with demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and drive alignment across functions without direct authority.
  • Comfortable operating as an individual contributor in a lean, high-expectations environment.
  • Permanent work authorization in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior consulting experience at a top-tier strategy firm or internal strategy/corporate development function.
  • Experience working in or alongside a business unit undergoing significant transformation, restructuring, or strategic repositioning.
  • Familiarity with biosimilars, sterile injectables, or global hospital supply chain dynamics.
  • Track record engaging with C-suite and senior enterprise leadership as a strategic advisor.
  • Ability to build trust rapidly and operate effectively in a newly formed, evolving team structure.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as single point of accountability for developing, maintaining, and evolving the GH&B strategic plan, ensuring integration across from Portfolio Strategy, Lifecycle, Business Development, Transformation, Operations, Finance and Commercial functions.
  • Ensure the strategic plan reflects enterprise priorities, GH&B's long-range ambitions, and a clear point of view on where and how to compete in global hospital and biosimilars markets.
  • Lead the design, orchestration, and evolution of annual and multi-year strategic planning cycles, ensuring timely, high-quality outputs that inform governance and leadership decision-making.
  • Develop and steward a clear, compelling strategic narrative for GH&B that resonates with executive, enterprise, and external audiences.
  • Translate complex strategic choices into structured frameworks, decision narratives, and materials that accelerate alignment and decision speed.
  • Partner with the Chief of Staff and GH&B CEO office to ensure messaging coherence across internal and external forums.
  • Monitor and synthesize competitive, market, and macro-environmental intelligence and trends relevant to the GH&B portfolio — including generic/multisource dynamics, biosimilar market evolution, and industry structural trends.
  • Translate external insights into practical strategic implications and recommendations for GH&B leadership to elevate discussions beyond functional perspectives.
  • Bring an external strategic perspective and consulting rigor to enterprise and business planning conversations.
  • Act as a strategic integrator across the Portfolio & Lifecycle Management team and GH&B's transformation and business development agendas.
  • Ensure alignment between the business strategic plan and priorities of senior leadership responsible for Portfolio Strategy, Lifecycle, and Business Development.
  • Proactively identify and resolve strategic gaps, misalignments, or sequencing issues and recommend paths forward.
  • Prepare and present high-quality strategic materials for GH&B leadership forums, board-level discussions, and enterprise forums.
  • Serve as advisor to GH&B Portfolio & Lifecycle Management Lead and senior leadership team on strategic direction, resource framing, and enterprise positioning.
  • Operate with a bias for clarity, simplification, and speed — reducing ambiguity and enabling faster, better-informed decisions.
