About The Position

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking a Director, Gastroenterology to join the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi and North Central Bronx. This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the clinical, administrative, quality, and academic functions of the GI division. The director will ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centered care across inpatient and outpatient settings. Key responsibilities include leading strategic growth, developing advanced clinical programs, fostering a collaborative environment, overseeing clinical quality and patient safety, leading program development for advanced GI services, recruiting and mentoring staff, maintaining an active clinical practice, and driving academic excellence through teaching and research initiatives.

Requirements

  • Board Certification in Gastroenterology
  • Five (5) years of Gastroenterology experience

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the clinical, administrative, quality, and academic functions of the GI division.
  • Ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centered care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Leading strategic growth and developing advanced clinical programs.
  • Fostering a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Overseeing clinical quality, performance metrics, and patient safety initiatives.
  • Leading program development, including expansion of advanced GI services, procedures, and infrastructure.
  • Recruiting, mentoring, and retaining physicians, APPs, and trainees.
  • Maintaining an active clinical practice, including inpatient service, outpatient care, and supervision of trainees.
  • Driving academic excellence through teaching, curriculum development, and growth of research initiatives.

Benefits

  • Annual Base Salary: $371,000 with a $37,100 stipend for leadership responsibility.
  • Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
