About The Position

The Financial Research and New Product Development (Fin RPD) team serves as the technical engine for CME Group's interest rate offerings, focusing on market structure, macroeconomic shifts, and product engineering. This role leads research efforts during a period of significant change in fixed-income markets. The position involves scaling world's primary benchmarks, particularly Treasury and SOFR futures and options, ensuring they remain efficient tools for navigating a volatile policy environment. It also includes building infrastructure for the future of the marketplace, such as CME Securities Clearing for U.S. Treasuries and Repos, and expanding into credit markets with maturity-bucketed credit futures. The Director will act as an expert in interest rate and credit ecosystems, driving strategy and leading the growth of credit futures. A key aspect of the role is transforming complex market activity and options volatility into high-impact publications, visualizations, and video content, bridging product innovation and market activity. The business need is for a strategic leader to align research output with marketplace demands, act as a key advisor to leadership, optimize intellectual capital, and ensure seamless execution of research and product initiatives. This role will also identify and leverage cross-promotional opportunities, integrate best practices, and scale operations to meet rigorous delivery timelines.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of CME listed interest rate products, ecosystem, and product workings.
  • Deep understanding of cash treasury, money markets, repo and credit market.
  • Proven ability to publish research content.
  • Demonstrated ability to project management across multiple timelines, deliveries, and project teams with a high level of collaboration.
  • Interest and ability to work across asset classes especially Equity Indexes and Crypto markets.
  • Undergraduate degrees include mathematics, finance, economics, computer science with higher level education preferred.
  • Greater than 5 years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design and develop risk management products for listed interest rates products business management (BLM).
  • Understand and validate client needs, define product offerings and specification and product modifications to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and coordinate connectivity to the listed rates, OTC derivatives and OTC cash businesses.
  • Develop research themes and author content to support CME Group businesses including analysis, data acquisition and visualization, submission of written internal and external research educational material.
  • Coordinate with marketing, legal, sales and corporate communications to ensure consistent theme and client reach.
  • Support and extend client-facing analytical tools, reports and data offerings.
  • Ensure product offerings, services and modifications meet regulatory requirements and client needs.
