Director, Financial Planning (Chicago Area, IL)

Edelman Financial Engines, LLC•Chicago, IL
•$125,000 - $350,000

About The Position

Edelman Financial Engines is seeking an experienced financial advisor to serve clients who have already enrolled with the firm. The position provides objective, fee-based financial advice, asset management, and comprehensive planning, with a focus on acting in clients’ best interests and building trusted, long-term relationships. The firm qualifies, enrolls, and assigns clients to advisors, so this role does not involve marketing activities or converting prospects into clients. The advisor evaluates clients’ financial situations, develops and presents recommendations, and supports clients in making informed decisions across their financial lives. Success is measured through client satisfaction and retention, relationship development, and organic growth—such as referrals, additional assets, and expanded planning opportunities. The advisor receives continuing education and support from Client Service Managers and retirement planning tools and software. The anticipated total target cash compensation is $125,000–$350,000, comprising base salary and bonus. Bonus potential is linked to performance and success in growing sales and client relationships. Other compensation and benefits may be available, including a discretionary bonus, health, dental and other wellness plans, and 401(k) contributions. Specific benefits eligibility can be discussed during the hiring process.
