About The Position

You will own the operating rhythm of finance for a national multi brand platform: the annual budget, the monthly close and variance cycle, the rolling forecast, and the reporting packages our board, lenders, and private equity sponsor rely on. This is a hands-on leadership seat reporting directly to the CFO, with a small high performing team and an unusual advantage: an AI enabled finance infrastructure, maintained by a dedicated technical lead, that automates much of the mechanical work, so your team spends its time on analysis and decisions. Foodtastic grows through acquisition, and this role sits at the center of that: integrating acquired brands into the planning and reporting cycle, supporting deal evaluation with the corporate development team, and building the reporting that keeps a leveraged, sponsor backed platform on track.

Requirements

  • 8 plus years of progressive finance experience, including direct ownership of a full budget cycle and a monthly close and variance rhythm in an operating company. You have run the calendar, not only built the models.
  • Experience producing reporting for a board, lender, or private equity sponsor audience, ideally in a leveraged environment.
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical skills; you can build from a blank workbook and audit someone else's build.
  • Team leadership experience: you have hired, developed, and retained analysts through repeated cycles.
  • Genuine appetite for AI enabled ways of working. You do not need to code, but you need to be excited rather than threatened by automation absorbing mechanical work.
  • University degree required.
  • Proficiency in both French and English due to the national scope of the work and the diverse stakeholders involved. The position supports multiple brands operating across Quebec and English-speaking regions of Canada, necessitating effective communication in both official languages.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages are essential to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment in day-to-day interactions, project execution, and deliverables.

Nice To Haves

  • Multi unit, franchise, restaurant, retail, or consumer experience is a strong asset.
  • CPA designation is an asset.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is a strong asset given our Quebec brand and franchisee community.

Responsibilities

  • Own the annual budget process end to end: calendar, templates, brand submissions, consolidation, challenge sessions, and presentation to executive leadership.
  • Run the monthly cycle: variance analysis against budget and prior year, commentary that separates timing from accounting from operational drivers, and a rolling reforecast leadership can act on.
  • Produce recurring board, lender, and sponsor reporting packages, including covenant reporting, and defend the numbers under challenge.
  • Lead and develop the FP&A team, building bench depth and succession rather than dependence on any single person.
  • Integrate newly acquired brands into the planning, reporting, and KPI framework, typically several per year.
  • Partner with corporate development on deal models, synergy tracking, and post acquisition performance measurement.
  • Adopt and champion the finance AI toolkit: you will not build the automation, but you will run your function on it and shape what gets built next.
