About The Position

The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis leads the organization’s financial planning, forecasting, and performance management activities and serves as a key strategic partner to the CFO and executive leadership team. This role is responsible for translating complex financial data into clear, actionable insights that inform business strategy, investment decisions, and long-term growth. The Director of FP&A brings financial discipline to decision making while being a business thought-partner, collaborating with leaders (Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Delivery/Implementation, Associate Experience, etc.) to help functions across the organization understand risks, opportunities, ROI, and performance drivers. In this role, the Director oversees annual budgeting, in-year forecasting, and long-range planning processes, ensuring alignment between financial plans and operational priorities. They develop and own financial models, scenario analyses, and variance reporting to monitor business performance and explain results. Through strong business partnership, the Director works closely with functional leaders to evaluate initiatives, challenge assumptions, and support informed decision making. This role also leads the preparation of executive level reporting and presentations, including materials for senior leadership and the board. The Director of FP&A leads, manages, develops, and gets their hands dirty alongside a team of two FP&A professionals, setting clear expectations and ensuring high quality, timely analysis. They build strong analytical capabilities, foster a culture of ownership and continuous improvement, and coach team members to support growth and succession planning. In addition, the Director strengthens FP&A processes, tools, and systems to improve accuracy, consistency, and efficiency, while reinforcing financial governance and discipline across the organization. In the first year, success will include improved variance analysis and reporting, tighter forecasting accuracy, upgraded executive KPI dashboards and BOD packages, improved product-level profitability analyses, and the development of a strong internal “brand” for Finance across NRC Health.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field required
  • 7 – 10+ years’ progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or related roles
  • Proven experience leading FP&A in a multi-stakeholder, growth-oriented organization
  • Demonstrated ability to effect change, set clear goals, and meet/exceed goals efficiently
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to influence executive level decisions
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint, and deep financial modeling and analytical skills
  • Experience working in planning and forecasting platforms such as NSPB (NRC’s current tool), Adaptive, Anaplan, or similar
  • Proven experience partnering with senior leaders across multiple functions
  • A track record of building, leading, and developing high performing teams
  • Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills

  • MBA, CPA, and/or CFA a plus
  • Public company experience a plus
