This role, Director of Finance, Services, is crucial for scaling the Services segment, which is expanding through acquisitions and organic growth. The position serves as the finance lead for the Services segment, responsible for planning, forecasting, contract economics, and deal support. While accounting and controllership are centralized, this role focuses on forward-looking financial aspects of the Services segment. The Director will be embedded within the Services organization, acting as the day-to-day finance partner to operating leaders, while reporting to the VP, Nuclear Finance. A key aspect of the role is building and leading the Services finance team to effectively integrate acquisitions and maintain financial discipline. Success requires proficiency in both the operational, field-driven aspects of a labor-intensive services business and group planning and reporting processes.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including FP&A leadership and operating or segment finance ownership.
  • Working command of ASC 606 for service contracts (time and materials, cost plus, and fixed price).
  • Experience partnering directly with operational P&L owners and translating operating strategy into financial outcomes.
  • Demonstrated M&A finance exposure (diligence, deal models, or integration).
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA and/or MBA.
  • Field services, nuclear, utilities, or industrial services experience; comfort with craft labor economics (utilization, per diems, pass-through costs).
  • Track record of value creation in an acquisitive (buy-and-build) environment.
  • NetSuite or comparable ERP fluency.
  • Hands-on experience deploying AI and automation in core finance processes.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day finance partner to Services operating leaders and P&L owners, owning the financial narrative for the Services P&L.
  • Apply financial rigor and provide challenges to the business, assisting in pricing, rate card, bidding, and margin decisions.
  • Deliver decision-quality analysis on job profitability, unit economics, labor utilization, backlog, and working capital.
  • Manage the monthly operating review process with Services leadership.
  • Own the Services annual operating plan, rolling forecast, and long-range plan, integrating acquired businesses into a unified segment operating model.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the segment, including job margin, utilization, backlog-to-bill, DSO, and working capital.
  • Maintain forecast accuracy standards for executive and board reporting.
  • Oversee segment and line-of-business classification at contract inception, collaborating with the Controller's team on revenue recognition.
  • Ensure rate cards are current and defensible, including for related-party engagements, and provide financial assessments for all material bids.
  • Support deal finance for the Services acquisition program, including financial diligence, deal modeling, and integration planning.
  • Partner with Corporate Development and the CAO organization on opening balance sheets and post-acquisition adjustments.
  • Hold acquired businesses accountable to the financial projections established during the acquisition process.
  • Deliver segment-grade Services reporting aligned with the company's operating segment presentation.
  • Prepare Services content for board and executive leadership reviews.
  • Build and deploy AI tools and agentic workflows for Services planning, forecasting, and reporting to scale the function through AI.
  • Partner on standardizing acquired businesses onto TNC's ERP and finance systems.
  • Hire, develop, and lead Services finance managers, building bench strength.
  • Establish a finance operating model that can absorb acquisitions without proportional headcount growth.
