About The Position

Manages services for children placed in foster care and supervises Foster Family Services staff. Analyzes and reports on program data and ensures compliance with all regulatory and program standards.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Human Services or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with children and families including management and supervisory experience required.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record and pass an annual Motor Vehicle Registration (MVR) check required.
  • Ability to provide own transportation (mileage reimbursed) to complete travel requirements of the job required.
  • Meet auto insurance requirements established by Boys Town policy and/or State and Local laws required.
  • On-call and continuously available to provide support and consultation and flexible hours including evenings and weekends required.
  • Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LISCW) for DC location required.

  • Experience working with children and families in community-based programs or Boys Town Programs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and supports safe and effective provision of services
  • Provides employees with on-going supervision and education related to safety and abuse risk.
  • Responds quickly and confidentially to reports of suspicious or inappropriate behavior.
  • Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements.
  • Adheres to policies and procedures related to Medication Administration for service recipients.
  • Oversees Foster Family Program.
  • Recruits, trains, and supervises program staff and volunteers; provides supervision and oversight to foster home licensure and home-study process.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with outside agencies and organizations for referral of Foster Parents.
  • Administers financial planning, and the allocation and disbursement of program budget.
  • Develops positive supervision relationships which includes coaching and mentoring; monitors performance of assigned personnel and reviews performance with Foster Services staff; develops and monitors career path trajectories for Foster Services staff.
  • Implements and ensures compliance with all contractual, regulatory, program, and accrediting body standards.
  • Develops and implements services for the program; directs and coordinates program activities.
  • Coordinates child referrals, intakes, and placement; coordinates Foster Parent selection assumes responsibility for final approval of Foster Parents.
  • Ensures training, supervision, consultation, and evaluation of Foster Parents.
  • Supervises, approves, monitors, and evaluates child service plans.
  • Provides clinical oversight, crisis intervention, and conflict resolution direction to Foster Family Services staff.
  • Provides and reviews necessary communication and documentation for families, agencies, courts, and interested parties to discuss child and family progress in meeting goals; provides direction for and reviews all situations of discharge of youth from the program.
  • May be trained to become a certified Common Sense Parenting Instructor and as a certified instructor may be asked to conduct Common Sense Parenting (CSP) Courses at designated locations as assigned.
  • Compiles, analyzes, and reports program data.
  • Coordinates effective collection and analysis of program data from a variety of sources.
  • Solicits written feedback from key stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Prepares and submits reports and recommendations to leadership.
  • Offers input and knowledge regarding budgetary management and Foster Parent reimbursement.
  • Serves as a role model in carrying out activities and behaviors that reflect the values and principles of the Boys Town mission.
