The Director Federal Government Affairs will develop and implement a federal government affairs strategy that advances organizational priorities and supports patient-focused outcomes. This role involves monitoring and interpreting legislative, regulatory, and federal political trends to ensure timely and actionable insights for the business. The Director will develop policy materials, including position papers, talking points, and legislative analyses to support advocacy efforts, and shape and influence policy outcomes through direct engagement, coalition-building, and targeted advocacy initiatives. Key responsibilities include representing the organization before the U.S. Congress, cultivating and maintaining trusted relationships with Members of Congress and congressional staff, and building and sustaining partnerships with trade associations, industry coalitions, patient advocacy organizations, and other external stakeholders. The role also involves managing external consultants and lobbying resources, collaborating with internal business, clinical, regulatory, legal, and communications teams, and serving as a strategic advisor to senior leadership. Additionally, the Director will lead the execution of the federal Political Action Committee (PAC) strategy, ensuring alignment with business priorities and advocacy goals, and ensuring full compliance with federal lobbying, ethics, and disclosure requirements. Registration as a lobbyist is required.
