Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation, planning, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to prepare and present clear reports, analyses, and recommendations.
  • Significant management and supervisory experience in facilities management, fleet operations, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex budgets, capital projects, and operational programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in municipal government or other public-sector organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of facilities management best practices, fleet management systems, sustainability initiatives, and asset management principles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership, direction, and management for the Division of Facilities & Fleet Management.
  • Develop and implement short- and long-range plans that support City operational and strategic goals.
  • Advise executive leadership on facilities and fleet strategies, asset planning, and infrastructure investments.
  • Oversee the maintenance, renovation, and construction of City buildings and related systems.
  • Manage facility planning, space utilization, furniture and equipment acquisition, and building improvements.
  • Direct building security operations, access control systems, surveillance systems, and employee identification programs.
  • Lead fleet management programs that ensure City employees have safe, reliable, and efficient vehicles and equipment.
  • Oversee fleet replacement strategies, asset utilization analysis, and lifecycle management programs.
  • Support innovative fleet initiatives, including alternative fuel technologies and sustainability efforts.
  • Develop and administer the Capital Improvements Program.
  • Manage divisional budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders throughout project development and construction.
  • Champion environmental stewardship by advancing energy efficiency, water conservation, sustainable building practices, and green fleet initiatives.
  • Promote a strong culture of workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop policies and practices that support organizational effectiveness and continuous improvement.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor division staff.
  • Foster accountability, collaboration, innovation, and excellent customer service.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across City departments and with external partners.
