About The Position

This job is responsible for planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall operation of Environmental Services. Ensures operations are consistent with Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing assigned facilities, and as directed by Hospital Administration, to ensure facilities are maintained in a clean, safe and comfortable manner. This is a regional position in the River Region. The Director of EVS will over see EVS and Patient Transport team members.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in Environmental Services leadership
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional, positive working relationships with peers, customers, employees, supervisors, vendors.
  • Ability to articulate ideas, thoughts, and opinions professionally and clearly within all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities, while multi-tasking long and short-range planning.
  • Ability to provide outstanding customer service to all customers.
  • Ability to write and convey complete thoughts and/or complex information.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with a strong orientation to attention-to-detail.
  • Ability to work and remain objective and professional under stressful situations.

  • Associate's Degree or higher
  • Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional Certification (CHESP)
  • Healthcare Environmental and Hospitality Services Certificate
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Above

Responsibilities

  • Develops department quality plan and budget that supports the hospital and organizational goals.
  • Reviews and analyzes financial statements, data, and other financial information to ensure attainment of financial goals.
  • Monitors operations by scheduling planned meetings to each department in the hospital to plan projects, implement new processes, new technology and to ensure sufficient communication.
  • Reviews and maintains reports to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Provides strategic leadership to the respective departments within the hospital to maintain patient satisfaction.
  • Responsible for department succession planning, employee development, engagement and inclusion initiatives, and training/constructive counseling.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
