Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior event technology consultant to potential, new and returning clients -- translating program goals, attendee journeys, and reporting needs into a platform solution and a build plan.
  • Lead technology discovery for new business: participate in prospect meetings, RFP responses and solution presentations with a clear, defensible point of view on what to build and what it takes to support it.
  • Scope and estimate event technology work, including registration complexity, mobile app, integrations, onsite requirements and translate it into level of effort, hours and fee recommendations for account and sales teams.

  • Configure and validate integrations between event platforms and client systems, including association management systems, CRM, abstract management, housing, badging and lead retrieval using native connectors and REST APIs.
  • Establish and maintain build standards, reusable templates and QA checklists so programs are delivered consistently regardless of who builds them.

  • Lead, coach and develop the event technology team, including project assignments, prioritization, performance management and career development.
  • Own the program intake and resourcing plan by assigning builds, balancing concurrent program workload across the team, and escalating capacity risk before it reaches a client deadline.

  • Partner with the VP of Technology on vendor management, contract renewals, platform evaluations and the technology roadmap for the event portfolio.
  • Support technology onboarding for newly signed clients and newly acquired organizations, including platform assessment, migration planning and standards adoption.
  • Provide onsite event technology support at client programs, including registration and badging operations, mobile app support, onsite hardware and live issue resolution.
  • Build the onsite technology staffing and contingency plan for each program: who travels, what equipment is required, and what happens when connectivity or hardware fails.
