About The Position

The Director, ESG Reporting & Controls will build and scale Capri Holdings’ global ESG regulatory reporting infrastructure and lead readiness for mandatory sustainability disclosures and external assurance. The role establishes complete, accurate, repeatable, well-controlled processes for collecting, validating and disclosing regulatory ESG information, including requirements under the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), California climate rules and other emerging requirements. Working with the wider ESG and Legal team, the Director will translate evolving requirements into practical business processes in partnership with Finance, Internal Audit, IT, Human Resources, Operations, and Production/Sourcing. The position also supports voluntary ESG reporting, including the annual Impact Report and selected ratings or rankings submissions, as well as other ESG reporting, governance and compliance projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Sustainability or another relevant field.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in ESG or sustainability reporting, external reporting, audit or assurance, internal controls, accounting, risk or a related field; broader experience across several of these disciplines is strongly preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of the global ESG reporting landscape, including CSRD, ESRS, EU Taxonomy, ISSB standards, California climate rules and the GHG Protocol.
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting reporting criteria, working with complex quantitative and qualitative data, and developing external-facing mandatory or voluntary disclosures.
  • Experience designing, documenting, operating or testing internal controls and maintaining complete, accurate and audit-ready evidence.
  • Experience preparing for or supporting independent third-party assurance, or managing external audit or assurance firms.
  • Ability to lead complex cross-functional programs, manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines and conditions of ambiguity.
  • Executive-level written, verbal and presentation skills, including the ability to explain complex requirements, influence senior stakeholders and interact effectively with auditors and external advisors.
  • Strong judgment, attention to detail, analytical capability and an advisory, service-oriented approach.
  • Ability to take ownership, work independently and collaborate effectively across a global organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ESG reporting technology and data-management platforms, particularly Novisto.
  • Working knowledge of the legal, financial and commercial considerations relevant to public disclosures.
  • Experience in the fashion, luxury, retail or consumer-products industries.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead Capri’s ESG regulatory reporting readiness program, including implementation planning, disclosure scoping, gap remediation, reporting calendars, dry runs, action tracking and timely delivery of regulatory report drafts.
  • Own the design, implementation and continuous improvement of internal controls over mandatory ESG reporting to support the completeness, accuracy, consistency and reliability of ESG data and disclosures.
  • Build repeatable end-to-end processes using AI technology for collecting, measuring, reviewing and approving sustainability metrics, with clear accountability, records-retention expectations and audit-ready documentation.
  • Coordinate with subject-matter experts and data owners across Capri’s brands and functions to clarify disclosure requirements, resolve interpretation questions, track workflows and improve data-collection tools.
  • Lead ESG assurance readiness and manage the day-to-day relationship with the external ESG assurance provider.
  • Support key CSRD processes, including double materiality assessments, value-chain mapping, and ESRS gap assessments and closures.
  • Monitor and interpret changes in global ESG reporting standards and legislation in partnership with Legal and Finance; assess applicability, gaps, risks and operational impacts, and translate requirements into practical actions.
  • Administer and enhance ESG reporting and content-management technology, including implementation of Novisto.
  • Educate and advise senior leaders, data owners and other stakeholders on mandatory ESG disclosure requirements, reporting expectations, governance responsibilities and readiness status.
  • Support voluntary ESG reporting, including the annual Impact Report and selected ratings or rankings submissions, as needed.
