About The Position

The Director Enterprise PMO is responsible for building, leading, and continuously improving Power Generation’s enterprise Project Management Office capability across PG and its Business Units. Reporting to the Head of Transformation & Continuous Improvement, this role manages a team of project management professionals responsible for PMO standards, governance, reporting, capability development, and direct delivery of large, complex enterprise transformation initiatives. The Director converts strategic priorities into executable programs, establishes clear operating cadence and decision forums, and ensures projects deliver measurable business value. Success requires strong leadership, executive communication, disciplined project delivery, and the ability to influence business units, functional teams, Digital and IT, and external partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, Project Management, Organizational Development, Information Systems, or a related field preferred
  • Ten to fifteen years of progressive project, program, PMO, transformation, operations, or business performance leadership experience, including large, complex cross-functional initiatives with enterprise-level impact.
  • Five or more years leading or managing PMO, program management, project delivery, portfolio management, enterprise project governance, or project management teams preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing, coaching, and developing direct reports or matrixed project professionals and building project standards, governance, stage gates, reporting, training, certification, and capability development programs.
  • Manufacturing, industrial, energy, field service, project-driven, engineering, or other asset-intensive business experience preferred.
  • PMP certification preferred; PgMP, Prosci or another change-management credential, Lean Six Sigma, SAP Activate, Agile, Scrum, SAFe, and other relevant certifications are considered a plus.
  • Deep knowledge of integrated planning, governance, financial management, milestone and dependency management, risk and issue management, change control, vendor management, performance reporting, and benefits realization.
  • Strong executive communication, facilitation, presentation, negotiation, conflict-resolution, stakeholder-engagement, strategic thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA or other core-system transformations, operational excellence, business-process transformation, organizational change, multi-site programs, and external implementation partners is highly valued.

Nice To Haves

  • PMP certification preferred; PgMP, Prosci or another change-management credential, Lean Six Sigma, SAP Activate, Agile, Scrum, SAFe, and other relevant certifications are considered a plus.
  • Manufacturing, industrial, energy, field service, project-driven, engineering, or other asset-intensive business experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing PMO team responsible for enterprise project governance, standards, reporting, capability development, and strategic project execution.
  • Own and continuously improve the PMO framework, including methodology, governance, stage gates, standards, tools, templates, reporting, training, and maturity development.
  • Lead large, complex cross-functional transformation initiatives from definition through implementation, stabilization, transition, and benefits realization.
  • Partner with executive sponsors, business owners, Business Units, functional leaders, Digital and IT, and external partners to define business cases, scope, outcomes, decision rights, resources, and measures of success.
  • Establish governance and operating cadence through steering committees, decision forums, escalation paths, action tracking, issue resolution, and executive decision support.
  • Manage project health through disciplined controls for scope, schedule, budget, risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies, decisions, constraints, and changes.
  • Provide portfolio and project visibility through executive dashboards, status reports, business reviews, decision papers, health metrics, and recommendations.
  • Integrate change management into delivery through stakeholder impact assessments, communications, readiness planning, training coordination, deployment, stabilization, and transition support.
  • Coach project managers, project teams, and functional partners on governance, execution practices, tools, accountability, and project management fundamentals.
  • Manage consulting firms, systems integrators, and third parties against defined outcomes, milestones, quality expectations, and commercial commitments.
