About The Position

Xcel Energy is seeking an experienced leader for an exciting job opportunity to implement enterprise-wide SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and SAP Enterprise Portfolio and Project Management (EPPM) solutions. This role will lead the enterprise implementation strategy, establish a long-term roadmap aligned with corporate strategy and S/4HANA transformation, and drive the modernization of financial planning, forecasting, capital and operating expense governance, and human capital planning. The position ensures alignment between enterprise planning capabilities and strategic initiatives related to reliability, affordability, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and clean energy transition goals. It also involves building integrated enterprise capabilities for capital investment planning and governance over a five-year horizon, partnering with various departments to improve investment prioritization, forecasting accuracy, scenario modeling, and portfolio visibility, and establishing enterprise standards for project governance, capital forecasting, schedule management, and financial performance tracking. The role oversees end-to-end implementation delivery, ensures tight integration between SAC, EPPM, SAP S/4HANA, and other data platforms, leads vendor and systems integrator relationships, and drives adoption of modern planning capabilities. Additionally, the Director will serve as the executive-facing technology and business leader, communicating program progress, risks, and value realization to senior leadership, and leading enterprise change management efforts for successful adoption of new planning processes and technologies.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
10+ years of progressive leadership experience in large-scale ERP, enterprise planning, or digital transformation initiatives.
5+ years leading enterprise SAP implementations or major transformation programs.
Experience implementing or managing SAP SAC, SAP EPPM, SAP BPC, SAP S/4HANA, or related enterprise planning technologies.
Demonstrated success leading large cross-functional teams and enterprise-wide initiatives.
Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience managing large consulting/vendor partnerships and enterprise program budgets.

Nice To Haves

Experience within utilities, energy, infrastructure, or other asset-intensive industries.
Experience supporting large-scale capital portfolio management and financial planning processes.
Familiarity with enterprise forecasting, workforce planning, project portfolio governance, and operational planning.
Experience integrating enterprise planning solutions with cloud-based analytics and AI platforms.
MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead the enterprise implementation strategy for SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and SAP EPPM across Xcel Energy.
Establish a long-term enterprise planning and portfolio management roadmap aligned with corporate strategy and S/4HANA transformation objectives.
Drive modernization of financial planning & forecasting, capital & operating expense governance, and human capital planning.
Ensure alignment between enterprise planning capabilities and other strategic initiatives.
Build integrated enterprise capabilities to support planning and governance in capital investments over a five-year horizon.
Partner with Finance, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and PMO teams to improve investment prioritization, forecasting accuracy, scenario modeling, and portfolio visibility.
Establish enterprise standards for project governance, capital forecasting, schedule management, and financial performance tracking.
Oversee end-to-end implementation delivery, including strategy, design, build, testing, deployment, integration, and operational stabilization.
Ensure tight integration between SAC, EPPM, SAP S/4HANA, enterprise data platforms, and reporting environments.
Lead vendor and systems integrator relationships, including scope management, delivery oversight, and accountability for outcomes.
Drive adoption of modern planning capabilities, including predictive forecasting, executive dashboards, analytics, and scenario modeling.
Serve as the executive-facing technology and business leader for enterprise planning transformation initiatives.
Communicate program progress, risks, investment priorities, and value realization outcomes to senior leadership and governance committees.
Build strong cross-functional relationships across Finance, Operations, HR, Supply Chain, Regulatory, and IT organizations.
Lead enterprise change management efforts to ensure the successful adoption of new planning processes and technologies.
Establish governance structures, training strategies, operating models, and support frameworks.
Drive process standardization and enterprise-wide alignment around planning and forecasting methodologies.
Partner with enterprise data and analytics teams to establish scalable, AI-ready planning and forecasting capabilities.
Support development of advanced analytics, predictive forecasting, and future AI-enabled decision support capabilities using enterprise planning data.
Promote high-quality enterprise data governance and integrated reporting structures.
