About The Position

As a People Manager, this role leads enterprise‑level analytical and strategic efforts that support growth and efficiency priorities. The position is accountable for structuring complex problems, leading advanced analysis and research, and facilitating informed decision‑making across business and functional leaders. This role operates with enterprise perspective and enables alignment, clarity, and rigor in support of enterprise objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field. Equivalent work experience or certification(s) may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in corporate strategy, enterprise performance, analytics, management consulting, or similar roles within financial services or regulated industries.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing teams and leading complex, cross functional work.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work in an unstructured environment.
  • Expertise in banking or the ability to quickly learn new areas of banking and apply that learning to defining and solving complex business problems
  • Demonstrated success influencing senior executives and leading multi‑disciplinary teams through structured analysis, insight, and facilitation in complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong financial services and commercial acumen to support enterprise growth and transformation by evaluating markets, customers, products, and partnerships and translating complex insights into actionable inputs through effective cross‑functional collaboration and stakeholder management.
  • As a Bank of Hawaii employee, you ensure (or assist with ensuring) compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Fair Banking, Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act.

Responsibilities

  • Shapes and advances enterprise growth and efficiency initiatives by structuring work programs, sequencing priorities, and translating strategic direction into defined initiatives. Ensures efforts are aligned with enterprise objectives, financial considerations, and operational realities.
  • Leads complex, cross enterprise analysis and research efforts related to customers, products, markets, operations, and efficiency opportunities. Produces synthesized insights that inform executive and business unit decision making.
  • Frames ambiguous, high impact business problems into clear hypotheses, analytical components, and learning agendas. Guides teams in breaking down complex issues and integrating perspectives from subject matter experts.
  • Acts as a consultative partner to business units and functional leaders by facilitating discussions, clarifying options, and supporting alignment. Enables informed decisions through insight and structure without direct ownership of business unit outcomes.
  • Supports the design and use of performance metrics, dashboards, and operating routines to monitor progress and identify execution risks or efficiency gaps. Applies an operational lens to assess feasibility, interdependence, and sustainability of initiatives.
  • Provides strategic leadership on all aspects of people management while modeling our leadership principles. Cultivates an environment where people are empowered to grow, take initiative, and succeed through clear direction, continuous coaching, and shared celebration.
  • Performs other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
