About The Position

The Head of Enterprise Applications is responsible for the strategy, transformation, delivery, and ongoing operation of Crown Castle’s core business platforms, including ERP, Finance systems, HRIS, Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), Procurement, and adjacent corporate applications. This role will drive enterprise-wide modernization and standardization, enabling scalable, efficient, and compliant operations across Finance, HR, Legal, Procurement, and Supply Chain functions. The leader will ensure that platforms are aligned to business priorities, governed effectively, and capable of delivering measurable value outcomes. The role sits at the intersection of technology, operations, and business transformation, requiring a leader who can drive execution at scale, partner with senior executives, and build a high-performing organization.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise applications, IT, or digital transformation
  • 10+ years in leadership roles managing large, cross-functional teams
  • Proven success leading enterprise-wide ERP and finance transformations
  • Experience with HRIS, CLM, and procurement platforms at scale
  • Track record delivering complex, multi-year transformation programs with measurable outcomes
  • Deep experience with: ERP platforms (Oracle, SAP, Workday Financials, JD Edwards)
  • Deep experience with: HRIS platforms (Workday, Dayforce, SAP SuccessFactors)
  • Deep experience with: CLM / Procurement platforms (Icertis, Ariba, Coupa, Ironclad)
  • Strong understanding of finance systems, including: General ledger, fixed assets, revenue, and consolidation, Financial controls, audit requirements, and reporting
  • Strong knowledge of: R2R, P2P, O2C, H2R, CLM processes
  • Ability to translate complex business needs into scalable technology solutions
  • Experience working closely with Finance, HR, Legal, and Procurement leadership
  • Strong understanding of: Enterprise integration architecture (APIs, middleware)
  • Strong understanding of: Cloud platforms and modernization strategies
  • Strong understanding of: Data architecture and governance principles
  • Ability to balance: Business needs, Technical constraints, Long-term sustainability
  • Experience operating in highly controlled environments, including: SOX compliance, Audit and regulatory requirements
  • Proven ability to implement controls, auditability, and governance frameworks
  • Strong executive presence with ability to influence: CFO, CHRO, GC, COO, and business leaders
  • Experience building and scaling organizations
  • Ability to drive alignment across competing priorities and stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the enterprise applications strategy across ERP, Finance, HRIS, CLM, Procurement, and related corporate systems
  • Lead multi-year transformation initiatives focused on: Standardization and simplification of business processes, Modernization of legacy platforms, Cloud adoption and platform consolidation
  • Establish a scalable and sustainable application ecosystem aligned to Crown Castle’s growth, operational complexity, and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure alignment between technology roadmaps and enterprise business priorities
  • Own delivery outcomes across all enterprise application programs from strategy → design → implementation → stabilization → value realization
  • Define and track quantifiable business outcomes, including: Reduction in financial close cycle times, Increased AP/AR automation and straight-through processing, Elimination of manual and spreadsheet-dependent processes, Improved procurement efficiency and supplier management, Reduced contract lifecycle time and increased compliance visibility, Enhanced employee experience and HR service efficiency
  • Establish governance frameworks to ensure program discipline, milestone adherence, and executive transparency
  • Provide executive leadership for ERP (financials), HRIS, CLM, and procurement platforms across full lifecycle: Platform evaluation and selection (RFPs, vendor assessments, architectural fit), Implementation planning and execution, Stabilization, optimization, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure Finance platforms support: Record-to-Report (R2R), Financial consolidation and reporting, Compliance (SOX, audit readiness, controls)
  • Ensure HR systems support: Hire-to-Retire (H2R) lifecycle, Workforce planning, payroll, benefits, and talent management
  • Ensure CLM and procurement platforms enable: Contract compliance and visibility, Supplier lifecycle management, Integrated procure-to-pay processes
  • Partner with Finance, HR, Legal, Procurement, and Supply Chain leadership to: Define and implement industry best-practice processes, Standardize operations across business units, Drive automation and eliminate inefficiencies
  • Lead enterprise adoption of core business process frameworks: R2R, P2P, O2C, H2R, and CLM
  • Deliver improvements in: Cycle times, Data quality and integrity, Process transparency and reporting
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture to define: Target-state application architecture, Integration patterns across ERP, HRIS, CLM, CRM, identity, and data platforms
  • Ensure systems are: Secure, auditable, and compliant by design, Integrated through scalable APIs and middleware, Aligned to modern cloud and data strategies
  • Guide build vs. buy decisions and long-term platform sustainability
  • Ensure all enterprise platforms meet requirements for: SOX compliance and auditability, Financial controls and reporting accuracy, Data governance and regulatory requirements
  • Establish and enforce: Strong program governance models, Vendor and system integrator accountability, Risk identification and mitigation processes
  • Provide visibility to executive leadership on risk, compliance posture, and execution progress
  • Oversee strategic relationships with: ERP, HRIS, CLM, and procurement platform vendors, System integrators and consulting partners
  • Maintain accountability for: Delivery performance, Cost management, Quality of outcomes
  • Ensure effective governance of third-party resources and engagements
  • Build and lead a high-performing Enterprise Applications organization
  • Develop strong leaders across: ERP/Finance systems, HRIS, CLM / Procurement systems
  • Establish operating models for: Project delivery, Production support, Release and change management
  • Foster a culture of: Execution excellence, Accountability, Cross-functional collaboration, Continuous improvement
