About The Position
The Director, Engineering & Technology — Applied Research leads an applied research organization that turns early-stage technology into fieldable missile and defense products. The role sets the organization’s applied research strategy and investment plan, leads engineering managers and technical staff across multiple disciplines, and partners with business development to capture research and prototype contracts. It also advances promising technologies into product lines and programs of record and builds relationships with government laboratories, universities, and industry partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or physical science.
- At least 15 years of experience in R&D or advanced engineering.
- At least 7 years leading technical teams.
- Experience winning and running government-funded research.
Nice To Haves
- M.S. or Ph.D.
- Active security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Set the applied research strategy and investment plan.
