Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Business, Construction/Project Management or closely related field.
  • Ten (10) years of progressive experience in design, facilities engineering, or construction management that demonstrates the ability to satisfactorily execute technical and supervisory/managerial responsibilities.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with a wide range of professional, supervisory, and management personnel at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to handle and resolve complex problems related to engineering, construction, project management, and contract administration issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to organize and present technical information and project presentations to various levels of management.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the Power Maintenance Engineering Group within the Power Engineering Department, responsible for providing engineering support for all maintenance related work.
  • Manages the Capital Projects Group within the Power Engineering Department, responsible for project management and oversight of all capital related projects, including some design engineering.
  • Manages the Sustainability Group within the Power Engineering Department, responsible for project management and oversight of all sustainability related projects, including some design engineering.
  • Manages the PA One Call database system and dispatching efforts.
  • Defines functions and goals, establishes priorities, assigns work, mobilizes resources, and monitors progress for the power engineering department.
  • Develops standard design details and specifications and standard maintenance programs for overhead contact system, power distribution systems, and traction power substations.
  • Develops feasibility studies and reports, including cost estimates for power related projects.
  • Provides short and long term planning necessary to maintain and upgrade existing power facilities.
  • Develops schematic, preliminary, and final designs, documents, and cost estimates intended for both in-house and third-party construction.
  • Directs and assists in the review of schematic, preliminary, and final designs, documents, and cost estimates prepared by third-party consultants.
  • Manages third-party power related design and construction projects.
  • Maintains company records regarding the physical facilities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
