About The Position

The Director, Emerging Technology & AI Fluency is responsible for building enterprise-wide AI fluency as a core leadership and workforce capability at Cencora. This role designs and activates scalable, modern learning experiences that move employees from awareness to confident, responsible application of AI in daily work and customer-facing products and services. The role blends learning science, creative design, and emerging technology to support critical employee moments that matter—from onboarding and role transitions to mid-career and tenured “reboots.” Serving as an internal Talent COE subject matter expert, this leader partners closely with business leaders, HR, IT, and creative teams to ensure AI adoption is practical, measurable, and embedded into real workflows—not treated as standalone training. Preferred location - East Coast or Central USA, with easy access to Cencora's Conshohocken HQ for meetings and events.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise learning, digital enablement, or emerging technology initiatives in a complex organization.
  • Proven success designing scalable learning experiences that drive behavior change and capability adoption.
  • Experience partnering across HR, IT, and business teams to activate new technologies in real workflows.
  • Typically 8-10 years of relevant experience in learning, talent, digital transformation, or related fields.
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Deep understanding of learning science, adult learning principles, and learner behavior.
  • Strong knowledge of emerging technologies and AI concepts, with the ability to translate complexity into practical application.
  • Experience with creative design, learning experience design (LXD), and social learning ecosystems.
  • Strong consulting, influence, and partnership skills across senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to define success metrics and use data to drive continuous improvement.
  • High learning agility and comfort operating in ambiguity and rapid change.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong enterprise mindset.

  • advanced degree in Learning Design, Organizational Development, Technology, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build enterprise-wide AI fluency by designing scalable learning experiences that enable responsible, confident application of AI across roles, functions, and geographies.
  • Stand up and lead an “AI in Action” ecosystem that supports rapid experimentation, tool adoption, and real-world application through partnership with business leaders and IT.
  • Identify and prioritize high-value AI use cases, enabling teams to embed AI into daily workflows, customer experiences, and decision-making.
  • Partner closely with the Senior Creative Director to enable internal AI leverage through creative design, nudges, communities of practice, social learning, and in-the-flow performance supports.
  • Design learning interventions aligned to employee moments that matter, including onboarding, role transitions, leadership shifts, and tenured capability refreshes.
  • Measure and evolve AI capability maturity across the enterprise, defining success through adoption, proficiency, productivity gains, and risk mitigation.
  • Continuously iterate learning and enablement strategies based on data, learner behavior, feedback, and the evolving technology landscape.
  • Lead learning and development strategy in the new era of work by integrating learning science, creative design, emerging technology, and human-centered design.
  • Serve as an internal Talent COE SME on emerging technology and AI, advising HR, leaders, and partners on adoption, fluency, and capability development.
