About The Position
Directs the operations, development, implementation and evaluation of emergency management programs for Sutter Health. Focuses of continuity of operations, emergency management, disaster response and emergency notifications for the health care system. Provides system constituents with pertinent information of current and potential risk exposures. Oversees all aspect of emergency management. Ensures compliance programs related to legislative, licensure and accreditation standards for the healthcare business.
Requirements
- Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
- Bachelor's: Business, Healthcare Administration or related field or equivalent education/experience
- CHSP-Certified Healthcare Safety Professional
- 12 years recent relevant experience
- Detailed knowledge of current state, federal, and professional standards for safety programs pertaining to healthcare facilities.
- In-depth knowledge of the principles, practices, and functions of Occupational Health and Safety, Risk Management and Loss Control Programs.
- Comprehensive understanding of risk management and financing per insurance industry standards.
- Superior business acumen and exceptional leadership skills to provide innovative solutions to complex problems and leveraging appropriate internal/external resources to meet corporate objectives.
- Skills in building cross-functional team, fostering consensus, resolving conflicts, and managing risk, in addition to being an effective decision maker and expert delegator.
- Exceptional organizational skills with an understanding of organizational dynamics, including creative problem identification and resolution, conceptualization, and contingency thinking skills.
- Advanced project management skills, including the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams that successfully define, develop, and deliver various information security solutions.
- Attention to detail with exceptional analytical skills in problem identification, analysis, and innovative resolution.
- Verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to present regulatory requirements, directives, ideas, and concepts effectively to a diverse audience.
- Advanced level of computer and application competency including Excel, Power Point, Word, and Project and relational database management systems.
- Interpret and apply complex environmental, healthcare, and employment laws and regulations.
- Adapt to changing or challenging initiatives while developing new ideas and approaches aimed at improving results.

- Experience in the management of emergency response programs for a large healthcare organization.
- Experience in a comprehensive management role demonstrating leadership across all of the major functions of emergency management, security, technology, and interfacing with the business and clinical leaders.
