About The Position

The IT Director End User Technology will design, run and build the strategy and vision for end user-based technologies across the global Stryker enterprise. This includes device management, virtual and physical clients, mobile technology, printer and peripherals, telecommunication platforms, voice, video and instant messaging communications, contact center platforms, cellular services, and conference room technology. This includes oversight of a large internal team of 20 plus globally dispersed employees and external contracted team of 50 plus with an operating budget of $20m annually and project spend of $10m annually. They should excel in management of operational, financial, and talent metrics. The role encompasses managing direct reports, vendors, support ecosystem, relationships with support teams, and communications with the users. Success in this position will be achieved by developing and implementing a comprehensive plan to continue the transformation end user-based technologies to achieve business outcomes by improving the user experience and instilling precision in the design and deployment of technology. Differentiation of solutions based on user personas and business requirements is essential.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years managerial and 10 years of hands on experience in designing and maintaining client-based technologies and platforms
  • Experience in leading global, complex programs and projects (including financials, governance, team engagement, RFP, Org Change Management, executive communications) is required
  • Experience in driving process discipline, establishing frameworks for end to end delivery of services and technology
  • Cross Group Collaboration, Strong Communication Skills and Relationship Management

Nice To Haves

  • Microsoft, Mobility and any relevant technical training / certifications are a plus
  • Telecom Certifications (Microsoft/Skype) a strong plus; Avaya, Genesys, Cisco experience a plus
  • ITIL certification strongly desired
  • Experience in global environment, Life Sciences, Converged networking, and Project Management are strong plus
  • Mac experience helpful

Responsibilities

  • Manages team to ensure service excellent and discipline across all Stryker divisions through engineering, monitoring, support model, continuous improvement, and embracing the Voice of the Customer
  • Factors in Stryker’s long-term business objectives and future technical needs, as well as industry developments to drive technology to provide value to the company and enhance the user experience
  • Responsible for status reporting (Monthly reports, ad-hoc updates, daily updates on critical items) and driving required action plans
  • Responsible for estimation, planning and execution of communications-centric programs and in support of other initiatives
  • Communicates and builds trustful, productive relationships with all levels of the organization as well as with other IS teams and vendors
  • Responsible to ensure support and operational management of client and mobility technology
  • Works across multiple IT groups to ensure platforms and services are integrated and efficiently operated
  • As a member of the End User Services team, lead and support cross-functional assignments.
  • Leads research, making recommendations on improving our computing environment.
  • Works with project managers on global projects with a focus on technical design, risk assessment, costs, timing and End User experience
