About The Position

The Director, Division Asset Protection leads all Asset Protection operations within their division, ensuring execution of AP strategies and that every store and market under their oversight meets or exceeds shortage and profitability goals. They serve as the division’s primary authority on asset protection, driving results through hands-on leadership, operational excellence, and decisive action. The Director oversees Senior Investigators and Training teams, sets priorities, and takes full responsibility for delivering measurable outcomes that protect the business, strengthen compliance, and safeguard the brand. Key partners include the Divisional VP, Store Managers, AP Leaders, Senior Regional leaders, and the Regional Director of Stores, with the Director ultimately accountable for AP performance across the division.

Requirements

  • Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply.
  • 5+ years in Asset Protection leadership with demonstrated success in owning divisional or regional outcomes.
  • This position requires heavy lifting, constant moving, remaining in a stationary position, and reaching with arms and hands.
  • Involves remaining in a stationary position for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 30 lbs. stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
  • May involve reaching above eye level.
  • Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
  • Able to travel, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute the division’s asset protection strategy, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and exceeding performance expectations.
  • Own shortage performance by identifying risks, implementing solutions, and holding teams accountable for execution.
  • Direct all investigations and training initiatives, ensuring timely resolution of theft, fraud, and compliance issues.
  • Set investigative priorities and coordinate efforts across stores and central teams to maximize effectiveness.
  • Take decisive action on performance gaps, deploying resources and corrective measures to protect profitability.
  • Monitor and manage case productivity, recoveries, and incident response to ensure measurable impact.
  • Lead emergency management for the division, acting as the primary decision-maker and communication hub during critical incidents.
  • Drive talent strategy, overseeing succession planning, development, and retention for AP leadership roles.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion, accountability, and growth, fostering authentic connections within the team.
  • Observe operational processes, such as RFID and Reverse Logistics, and provide feedback and insights to functional support leaders.
  • Manage the expense budget and approvals for AP related repairs and balance the AP stores’ staffing budget within assigned division.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
