•$172,550 - $203,000

About The Position

Engine is seeking a Director, Distribution Strategy to own the end-to-end strategy for how rate content is negotiated, distributed, and managed across channels, partners, and connectivity surfaces. The role designs rate distribution programs, including the frameworks, segmentation, and rate products that determine how content reaches partners and customer segments, and shapes how those programs are positioned and presented to chain and distribution partners in coordination with account relationship owners. The Director will also establish the internal capabilities that support accurate and protected distribution, including rate-loading standards, rate fencing, parity and rate-integrity monitoring, and channel coverage. Working as a senior leader across Supply, Partnerships, Product, Engineering, Operations, and Finance, this is a builder’s role focused on consolidating fragmented rules and systems into a coherent operating model, designing scalable distribution programs, and developing the tooling and monitoring to keep distribution accurate, protected, and competitive. The position translates strategy into a prioritized capability roadmap and partners with Operations on reliable execution without owning day-to-day operations.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in distribution, channel management, revenue or distribution strategy, or connectivity in travel, hospitality, travel technology, or a related platform business.
  • Track record of designing distribution programs or commercial frameworks, including deciding what to bring to market, how to segment it, and how to position it to partners.
  • Deep understanding of how rates and availability move across channels, including rate loading, rate codes and plans, parity, and connectivity surfaces.
  • Strong judgment on rate integrity and fencing, and understanding of the partner-relationship consequences of distributing rate content to the wrong audience.
  • Comfort in partner-facing settings and ability to co-lead discussions with account owners, positioning and pitching programs to sophisticated chain and distribution partners.
  • Technical and data fluency sufficient to engage credibly with Product and Engineering on data flows and monitoring, and to define relevant signals, without owning the backlog.
  • Structured, systems-minded approach and ability to turn fragmented rules and tools into a coherent operating model.
  • Commercial literacy and ability to connect distribution and program decisions to business value while staying out of pricing and margin decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functionally through influence in matrixed, fast-scaling organizations.
  • Clear communication and sound decision-making under ambiguity.

Responsibilities

  • Own Engine’s rate distribution strategy across channels, programs, partners, and customer segments.
  • Design rate distribution programs, including the frameworks, segmentation, and rate products used to deliver content across channels and segments.
  • Shape how distribution programs are positioned and pitched to chain and distribution partners, working with the relationship owners for those accounts.
  • Define the rate products Engine builds and distributes for each channel and segment, and evolve the product mix over time.
  • Design and enforce rate-fencing rules to control audience access, protect negotiated rate content, and maintain partner trust.
  • Own the strategy and standards for rate loading and rate-plan enablement across distribution and connectivity surfaces.
  • Build rate-integrity capabilities, including parity and accuracy monitoring across channels and the supporting tools and dashboards.
  • Translate distribution strategy into a prioritized, buildable capability roadmap with Product and Engineering.
  • Consolidate existing rules and agreements into a single operating model.
  • Partner with Operations to ensure strategy and standards are executed reliably, without owning day-to-day execution.
  • Monitor trends in distribution technology, connectivity, and rate integrity to inform prioritization.
  • Work cross-functionally with Supply, Partnerships, Product, Engineering, Operations, and Finance.
