The Director Disaster Finance Response will lead the Domestic Disaster Finance Response Team and oversee the financial infrastructure supporting domestic disaster relief operations, including purchasing processes, financial controls, financial planning, and reporting. Initially reporting to the Vice President of Humanitarian Programs Finance, the role will work closely with the Finance Director of Long-Term Recovery and Gray Sky Sustainment. The position is expected to manage three direct reports, including the Financial Response Manager, Financial Reporting Manager, and Financial Infrastructure & Controls Manager, with oversight of a broader team of approximately eight additional staff. This is a 100% Remote position, and candidates can live anywhere in the US. The role involves reviewing financial data analysis related to operations, business performance, opportunities, and investments. It also includes directing financial analysis projects, forecasting, and statistical studies, ensuring compliance with governmental regulations, professional standards, and organizational policies. The Director will lead the team in preparing and distributing periodic financial statements, supporting domestic disaster with agile and quick purchasing and financial tools/systems while ensuring strong financial controls, and leading the team in applying newer technologies for continuous improvement in efficiency and effectiveness. The role ensures that more expensive domestic disaster relief operations are well-supported by the finance department for the response phase of the disaster and facilitates transition to the next phase. The Director will establish operating policies and procedures that affect departments and subordinate sections and work units, interpret company-wide policies and procedures, and develop budgets, schedules, and performance standards for the Disaster Finance Response team. This includes supporting domestic disaster purchasing tools and financial controls. The Director will partner with Disaster Cycle Services to create budgets for the response phase of disaster relief operations and then proactively analyze and report on spend against those budgets and forecast the final response cost usually on at least a weekly schedule. This is a very fast-paced position that will often require working during non-standard hours at no-notice due to disasters.
