About The Position

S&P Global’s DevOps Engineering organization builds and operates the pipelines, platforms, and infrastructure that enable fast, secure, reliable software delivery at enterprise scale. This people-first, automation-first engineering leadership role shapes the organization’s technical direction and team culture, influencing engineering velocity and platform resilience across the firm. The role calls for a pragmatic, empathetic leader who sets clear expectations, makes sound decisions under pressure, and promotes ownership, reliability, and continuous improvement. The Director leads and develops DevOps engineers and owns the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, container platforms, and developer tooling. The position advances infrastructure-as-code, configuration management, and automation; ensures platform reliability and availability; and embeds security and compliance controls into delivery pipelines and platforms. Working with application engineering, product, operations, Security, Risk, and Architecture teams, the Director improves engineering delivery metrics, manages cloud and tooling costs and vendor relationships, and communicates strategy, priorities, risks, and outcomes to senior stakeholders. The role requires 12 or more years of relevant DevOps, platform engineering, infrastructure, or site reliability engineering experience, including at least five years leading DevOps or platform engineering teams. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is required. The anticipated US base salary range is $177,000–$210,000, and the role is eligible for an annual incentive plan and additional S&P Global benefits.
