About The Position

Crusoe is seeking a Director, Development to lead the execution and delivery of our large-scale AI data center campuses, each exceeding $1B in scope. This role is central to our physical project delivery, with involvement in all aspects of the development life cycle, including entitlements and permitting oversight, contractor management, and site delivery. You will serve as the primary development leader on critical projects, ensuring flawless delivery while protecting executional risk. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring technical, project management, and municipal coordination acumen. This role is required to be in office 5 days per week in our San Francisco, CA, office.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in real estate development roles, preferably in industrial, life sciences, or infrastructure.
  • Technical Knowledge: Extensive experience in large-scale development project oversight end-to-end.
  • Contract Management: Strong working knowledge of construction contracts and development-related agreements.
  • Leadership: Ability to operate at both strategic and executional levels with limited oversight.
  • Project Navigation: Familiarity with utility coordination, permitting timelines, and municipal approval processes.
  • Location: Based in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area.

Responsibilities

  • Project Delivery: Leading the execution of Crusoe’s multi-billion dollar data center campuses from initial planning through final delivery.
  • Site Oversight: Directing construction managers, engineering teams, and third-party consultants.
  • Project Scheduling: Building and maintaining master project schedules, aligning design, permitting, and construction milestones.
  • Entitlements: Managing the oversight of entitlements and permitting processes with government agencies.
  • Risk Management: Identifying and proactively resolving execution risks before they impact the delivery timeline.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Serving as a primary point of contact with government agencies and internal engineering stakeholders.
  • Infrastructure Management: Coordinating utility requirements and municipal approval processes.
