About The Position

GitLab is seeking a Director, Data Science to lead its Product, Sales, and Finance Data Science teams. Reporting to the VP of Data & Insights, this leader will connect data science work to company priorities, including product innovation and adoption, go-to-market effectiveness, and consumption-business growth, while ensuring analysis influences executive decisions. The role also establishes standards for data science quality and develops managers who build high-performing teams. The Director leads through managers and oversees a team of 12 data scientists and analysts. The team focuses on experimentation, causal inference, production models, and recommendations that leaders can act on. This is a remote role. GitLab is an all-remote, asynchronous company, and team members are expected to use AI in their daily workflows. The listed US base salary range is $209,600–$314,400 USD; the range excludes bonuses, equity, and benefits.
