About The Position
The Director, Data Science leads the development and deployment of advanced analytical models and data strategies to drive business value. This role requires expertise in machine learning, coding, and data visualization to translate complex data into actionable insights. The position involves guiding teams, collaborating across functions, and ensuring solutions align with organizational objectives. The Director fosters innovation, oversees model validation, and supports scalable implementations while maintaining high standards of integrity and operational excellence to enhance decision-making and business performance. The OneDemand Forecasting team leads the development of advanced demand forecasting and machine learning solutions at scale. This team designs and refines models analyzing extensive data across multiple items, stores, and locations. Collaborating closely with business, product, and engineering teams, they align forecasting efforts with operational priorities. The team applies advanced statistical and machine learning methods to improve accuracy, scalability, and explainability. Partnering with engineering, they scale forecasting platforms to support varied business needs and time horizons, driving impactful data science initiatives that enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in data science, machine learning algorithms, and advanced analytical modeling techniques.
- Proficiency in programming languages including Python, SQL, and Java for code development and testing.
- Strong understanding of data strategy, data quality, and data governance principles to drive business value.
- Expertise in deploying, monitoring, and scaling machine learning models in production environments.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable data-driven solutions and strategies.
- Proven leadership skills in mentoring teams and managing cross-functional collaboration.
- Excellent communication skills to present insights and influence stakeholders effectively.
- Bachelors degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 6 years' experience in an analytics related field.
- Masters degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 4 years' experience in an analytics related field.
- 8 years' experience in an analytics or related field
