About The Position

FTI Consulting is seeking a Director to join their Privacy team within the Cybersecurity practice. This role involves leading and executing privacy consulting and advisory engagements, including risk assessments, regulatory readiness, data governance, program development, and privacy management platform implementation. The position also requires client relationship management, business development, and mentoring junior staff. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strategic mindset, flexibility across industries, and experience with emerging privacy technologies. This is a hands-on role requiring strong organizational and project management skills, deep privacy expertise, and technical curiosity. The role demands 5-8 years of experience in privacy/cybersecurity consulting, with the ability to manage complex workstreams, engage directly with clients, and deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of relevant experience in privacy consulting, privacy program management, or a closely related field, with demonstrated exposure to both regulatory compliance and practical privacy program implementation.
  • Hands-on experience supporting or managing the configuration and deployment of privacy management platforms such as OneTrust, Ketch, Securiti.ai, etc.
  • Strong working knowledge of privacy regulations and frameworks, including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, HIPAA, and other applicable U.S. state level, federal, and international privacy laws, and their practical application in a consulting or corporate environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships, lead project workstreams, and mentor or oversee junior team members.
  • Ability to travel to FTI offices and client sites as needed.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; this position does not provide visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Law, Political Science, or a related field; advanced degree or legal background is a plus.
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US and/or CIPP/E) and/or Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) certification from IAPP.
  • OneTrust platform certifications are a strong plus.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent client engagements in a fast-paced, deadline-driven consulting environment.
  • Familiarity with privacy management platform capabilities, including data inventory and mapping, consent management, DSAR workflow automation, and vendor risk management modules.
  • Experience developing and presenting client-facing deliverables such as privacy assessments, gap analyses, roadmaps, and policy documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with legal, compliance, operational, and executive stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, with strong organizational and project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the configuration and implementation of privacy management platforms (e.g., OneTrust, TrustArc, Ketch) to support client-facing privacy program solutions, including Data Inventory and Data Mapping, Consent Management Platforms (CMP), Data Subject Access Request (DSAR) workflows, vendor and Third-Party Risk Management portals, and privacy notice and policy management tools.
  • Support the preparation of a variety of client materials (e.g., strategic memos, project status updates, privacy assessments, presentations, policy and procedure documents, gap analysis reports, regulatory or compliance updates and both external and internal communications content, etc.) in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Advise clients on consent models for website tracking technologies across websites and mobile applications; support the development and deployment of website scanning strategies and recommend practical technical measures to support consent and preference management obligations, including assisting with the configuration and rollout of consent management tools.
  • Manage engagement workstreams, supervise junior team members, and serve as a primary point of contact for client stakeholders.
  • Manage resource allocation and project financials and budgets as required.
  • Contribute to business development through proposal development, thought leadership, and the creation of standardized methodologies and reusable work products.
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving privacy regulations to continuously enhance the quality and relevance of client solutions.
