Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of ten years of related experience in higher education, executive education, consulting, or human resources including managerial training and development.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong public speaking, organizational, leadership, and supervisory skills.
  • Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment.
  • Experience with hiring, terminating, evaluating, and coaching individuals and teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree (MBA, MS, MA)
  • Terminal degree is strongly preferred in a discipline applicable to the role in business, education administration, human resources, or a related discipline.
  • Classroom teaching and or group facilitation and consulting skills and experiences are highly desirable.
  • Experience leading teams of knowledge workers and experience working with business school faculty is highly desirable and a requirement for top candidates and payscale considerations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, direct, and facilitate executive education programs, consulting engagements, action research, and relationship management for custom clients.
  • Partner with Mays faculty to develop new programs for clients, assessing needs and business objectives, and incorporating client culture into program design.
  • Manage resources to maximize value for the Center and clients, selecting and supporting faculty and content providers.
  • Collaborate with academic leaders and faculty to recruit and retain qualified instructors and develop innovative curricula.
  • Communicate program design and learning outcomes to clients, ensuring high-quality delivery and meeting profitability guidelines.
  • Analyze program data to track progress and guide adjustments, oversee continuous improvement, and exercise independent judgment to determine effective solutions.
  • Serve as the primary interface with clients from proposal to program conclusion, meeting with top leadership to assess needs.
  • Manage client relationships, including pre-program planning, program delivery, evaluation, feedback, and ongoing relationship building.
  • Assist the Executive Director/Assistant Dean in developing and implementing departmental strategic plans.
  • Establish performance goals and measures to evaluate success.
  • Ensure adherence to university, departmental, and governmental policies.
  • Supervise and direct client engagement and program director staff, along with the activities of engagement teams.
  • Directly supervise staff, including facilitating meetings/retreats, evaluating personnel, providing developmental feedback and coaching, assessing/adjusting position duties, and reprimanding/terminating when necessary.
  • Oversee personnel within areas managed by direct reports, modeling and promoting commitment to the department’s mission, customer focus, collaboration, and cooperation.
  • Assist with prospective clients, meeting with potential clients to determine partnership possibilities for leadership development programs.
  • Assist Client Engagement Director with proposal development.
  • Provide support to other CED staff engaged in new business development.
