About The Position

It is the responsibility of the Director of Culture and Climate to lead the development and implementation of strategies that promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive school environment, ensuring that the comprehensive needs of every student are met through effective programs, interventions, and community engagement.

Requirements

  • ISBE PEL with administrative endorsement
  • Previous administrative experience preferred
  • Must be able to perform all of the duties and responsibilities of the position
  • Thorough knowledge of teaching, supervision, communication, human relations, and guidance skills
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Ability to communicate effectively and accurately, both orally and in writing, in English
  • Ability to communicate effectively and accurately, both orally and in writing, in Spanish
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external constituents
  • Ability to make independent decisions in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Ability to deal with difficult situations courteously and tactfully

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the implementation of MTSS to ensure students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs are met.
  • Collaborates with staff to develop interventions and strategies for at-risk students.
  • Oversees and coordinates summer school programming.
  • Oversess Student Resource Center (SRC), including certified and support staff.
  • Monitors and analyzes data to ensure effectiveness and make necessary adjustments.
  • Supervises and provides guidance to the Deans in managing student discipline and supporting positive student behavior.
  • Ensures consistency in the implementation of school policies and procedures related to student conduct.
  • Fosters a supportive environment for both students and staff.
  • Oversees the Family Outreach Program, developing and implementing strategies for engaging families in their students' educational experiences.
  • Cultivates partnerships with community organizations to support students and their families.
  • Coordinates events and resources that enhance family-school collaboration.
  • Oversees the Activities Director's efforts to provide enriching extracurricular activities for students.
  • Leads initiatives to foster a respectful, inclusive, and engaging school environment for all students.
  • Encourages student leadership and creates opportunities for students to be involved in shaping school culture.
  • Collaborates with faculty, staff, and students to ensure a safe and supportive climate for learning.
  • Actively promotes mental health and wellness initiatives across the school community.
  • Serves on committees as delegated by the Principal.
  • Serves as a member of the Principal's Advisory Council.
  • Provides lunchroom supervision and extracurricular event supervision.
  • Evaluates certified and non-certified staff.
