About The Position

CreditSights is seeking a Director, Credit Analyst – Banks to be based out of our New York office. CreditSights offers award-winning, unbiased research on global credit markets, empowering clients to make informed investment decisions. With offices in New York, London, Singapore, Glasgow, Denver, and Charlotte, we serve a diverse global institutional client base. CreditSights is a Fitch Solutions Company, providing a dynamic environment for professional growth and innovation. The CreditSights team consists of 100 analysts globally. We are looking for a candidate who is qualified, eager, and self-starting, with at least six years of experience following the Banking sector and demonstrated responsibility for investment views. The candidate will be responsible for all tasks related to issuer and sector coverage, including building and maintaining financial models, monitoring multiple news sources, maintaining databases, interpreting financial statements, contributing to fundamental analysis, writing research reports, and attending meetings with clients and bond issuers.

Requirements

At least six years of experience conducting credit research related to the US Financials sector.
Strong financial modelling skills.
Excellent writing skills with the ability to write clearly, quickly and prolifically.
A record of extensive issuer and investor interaction.
Ability to multi-task, with a strong work ethic.
Undergraduate / post graduate degree.

Nice To Haves

A record of previous publications with relative value analysis is preferred.
CFA designation seen favorably.
Strong market recognition for US Financials research, demonstrated through widely read publications and extensive engagement with investors and clients.
A can-do attitude to publish research quickly.

Responsibilities

Conduct fundamental credit analysis of the US Financials sector.
Publish frequently on a portfolio of credits and market themes.
Meet current and prospective clients to discuss and market CreditSights’ research, in conjunction with our sales team.
Collaborate with a market-leading Credit Strategy team on sector and market-level themes and views.
Interact with colleagues in our New York, London and Singapore offices on research topics to establish common views on the market outlook and sectoral views.
Build and maintain financial models.
Monitor multiple news sources for relevant stories and information.
Maintain databases.
Interpret and analyze financial statements.
Contribute to fundamental analysis.
Write research reports (earnings notes, news flow, credit events, and thematic research).
Attend and participate in meetings with clients and bond issuers.
Work with the team Lead on conducting fundamental credit analysis of the US Financials sector.
