About The Position

The Director, Corporate Real Estate & Facilities is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic management and operational oversight of the company's nationwide real estate portfolio and facilities functions. Operating within a government and defense contracting environment, this position oversees a portfolio of 25+ properties across the United States, leads multiple concurrent multimillion-dollar capital investment projects, and ensures that all facilities operations align with corporate objectives, regulatory requirements, and the company's contractual obligations. The Director serves as the primary interface between the CFO, senior executive leadership, and on-the-ground operations teams on all real estate and facilities matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Facilities Management, Finance, Engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in corporate real estate, facilities management, or a related discipline, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large, geographically distributed commercial real estate portfolios.
  • Proven track record overseeing complex, multimillion-dollar capital construction or renovation projects.
  • Experience working within or supporting a government or defense contracting organization, with familiarity with relevant ICD 705 regulatory and compliance environments.
  • Strong financial acumen, including the ability to analyze lease financials, develop business cases, and manage budgets.
  • Proficiency with real estate management platforms; experience with Visual Lease or comparable systems preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage credibly at the executive level and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, including surge periods associated with government proposal activity.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications such as CCIM, CPM, RPA, CFM, or PMP.
  • Experience with classified facilities, including ICD 705 requirements.
  • Experience with both full-service and triple net lease structures.
  • Experience supporting government contract proposal development, including writing or reviewing facilities-related proposal sections.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive oversight and leadership for multiple concurrent multimillion-dollar capital investment projects across the United States.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Chief Financial Officer, senior executive team, and project operations teams, ensuring alignment on scope, budget, schedule, and risk.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Chief Security Officer (CSO), senior executive team, project operations teams and the accrediting authorities on specific facilities initiatives to ensure the desired facility can be accredited to the security specifications required.
  • Partner with designated project managers on each initiative, maintaining accountability for project outcomes and reporting progress to senior leadership.
  • Identify and escalate project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure timely resolution of issues that could impact cost, schedule, or quality.
  • Oversee a portfolio of approximately 25 commercial properties across the United States, including both full-service and triple net leased facilities.
  • Administer and continuously improve the company's real estate management platform (CoStar Visual Lease), ensuring data integrity, reporting accuracy, and system optimization.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all lease terms, critical dates, financial obligations, and property-specific requirements across the portfolio.
  • Coordinate regularly with Accounts Payable to ensure accurate and timely processing of lease payments, operating expenses, and reconciliations.
  • Monitor market conditions and provide strategic recommendations regarding portfolio composition, footprint optimization, and space utilization.
  • Lead or support negotiations for new leases, lease renewals, amendments, extensions, and property dispositions.
  • Engage and manage outside brokers, legal counsel, and other third-party advisors as needed to support real estate transactions.
  • Ensure all executed agreements comply with company policies, legal requirements, and applicable government contract regulations.
  • Support facility initiative sponsors with in their development and presentation of business cases and financial analyses to executive leadership for significant real estate decisions.
  • Serve as the enterprise-wide point of contact for all corporate real estate and facilities matters, ensuring consistent service delivery across all locations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain facilities policies, standards, and procedures that support operational efficiency and compliance.
  • Ensure facilities operations comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as requirements specific to government and defense contracting environments.
  • Manage vendor and service provider relationships, including contract administration, performance oversight, and invoice approval.
  • Support business continuity and emergency preparedness planning as it relates to facilities and physical infrastructure.
  • Contribute real estate and facilities expertise to company proposal efforts, including authoring or reviewing facility-related content for government contract proposals.
  • Respond to surge demand during active proposal periods, providing timely and accurate facilities information in support of capture and business development activities.
  • Coordinate with business development and contracts teams to ensure proposed facility solutions are operationally feasible and contractually sound.
  • Provide support to the CFO and senior executive team on all real estate, facilities, and capital investment matters.
  • Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with Finance, Legal, Contracts, Operations, IT, and Security.
  • Lead, and mentor any site lead or team members not a direct report but with responsibilities in the facilities function.
  • Assist the VP Corporate Controller in development and management of the facility service center budget, including capital expenditures, operating expenses, and lease obligations.
