About The Position

Manage and direct activities of staff responsible for the administration and support of multiple technology infrastructure systems, including corporate IT systems, generation and water OT systems and infrastructure, enterprise voice and data networks, data center technology systems and server platforms.

Requirements

  • Twelve (12) years of relevant experience.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field plus eight years of relevant experience or a Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field plus six years of relevant experience designing, building, and supporting enterprise IT technology infrastructure is acceptable.
  • In all cases, experience must include: five years of relevant leadership experience; five years of experience building and supporting OT environments and technologies; three years of experience with cloud solutions; five years of experience working with the ERCOT power market and knowledge of NERC requirements.
  • All experience may be gained concurrently.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and implementation of hybrid cloud infrastructure solutions.
  • Responsible for applicable NERC CIP regulatory reporting and maintaining documentation.
  • Provide leadership related to cloud strategies and implementation of cloud solutions and partners with stakeholders to evaluate risks and opportunities related to same.
  • Ensures servers, voice, and data network and data center technology systems meet all established performance metrics and Service Level Agreements.
  • Create and maintain operational process and procedures for system administration, backups, monitoring, patching, emergency response and support.
  • Ensure effective coordination of activities related to the implementation of new hardware and software.
  • Provide technical consultation and support to users and other technology staff.
  • Manages the processes for provisioning of administrator accounts and permissions.
  • Lead ongoing architecture and design planning for network, data center, and OT / IT systems.
  • Ensure system architecture conforms to IT Enterprise Architecture processes and standards.
  • Ensure adherence to best-practices, performance and cost efficiency targets.
  • Adhere to appropriate processes to manage system operational problems, incidents and outages.
  • Lead problem isolation and troubleshooting process for technology systems.
  • Provide clear and timely status communication to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Ensure approved change management procedures are followed.
  • Validate compliance through regular monitoring of system event reports.
  • Lead staff in coordinating with other departments related to wide area transport services to support enterprise network strategies, planning and implementation of appropriate security policies and data center space, power and environmental activities.
  • Provide regular status communication on team deliverables to appropriate stakeholders as well as reports on operational statistics.
  • Handle all aspects of subordinate staff supervision, including hiring, training, work assignments, evaluation, performance management, and compensation.
  • For department and staff reporting to this position, develop strategic and operating plans, goals, objectives, priorities and procedures in alignment with the strategic goals and objectives of the LCRA.
  • Develop and manage departmental budget and expenditures.
