About The Position

The Compliance Senior Director leads the strategic execution and continuous advancement of the MHS compliance program, ensuring enterprise-wide adherence to the federal and state healthcare fraud and abuse laws, HIPAA regulations, and internal compliance standards, proactively safeguarding organizational integrity, reputation, and regulatory readiness.

Requirements

  • Masters (Required)
  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in healthcare regulatory compliance within a large integrated healthcare delivery system or academic medical center, including at least two (2) years in a leadership or managerial role
  • Master's degree in Law, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field.
  • Compliance certification (CHC or equivalent) or willingness to obtain same within six months required.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the annual compliance risk assessment, identifying and prioritizing key areas of exposure.
  • Leads the development and execution of compliance training strategies.
  • Provides compliance training for assigned entities and participates in rotating schedule for New Employee Orientation.
  • Drives consistent and equitable disciplinary actions in response to substantiated noncompliance.
  • Supports development and execution of the annual compliance work plan, driving accountability for initiatives impacting assigned entities.
  • Oversees compliance reviews across assigned entities.
  • Ensures effective implementation and sustainability of corrective action plans through ongoing monitoring and outcome validation.
  • Engages in operational forums to identify compliance risks and provide expert guidance.
  • Provides enterprise oversight of the MHS Corporate Compliance Program across assigned entities serving as a strategic advisor to leadership.
  • Advances risk-informed decisions that strengthens regulatory adherence and promotes a culture of ethics and accountability.
  • Serves as a strategic liaison to regulatory agencies, supporting audits, inquiries, and investigations in alignment with executive leadership.
  • Establishes and sustains trusted partnerships with leadership while maintaining strong executive visibility across assigned entities.
  • Leads and develops compliance team members, fostering a high-performing team through coaching, mentoring, and talent development.
  • Chairs compliance committees for assigned entities, overseeing meeting governance and ensuring accurate documentation of proceedings, including delegation responsibilities.
  • Promotes a culture of transparency by encouraging timely reporting of compliance concerns and ensuring workforce awareness of reporting channels.
  • Collaborates with compliance leadership to ensure integrated oversight and consistent application of compliance standards across MHS.
  • Leads the development and refinement of compliance policies.
  • Ensures alignment with evolving regulatory requirements.
  • Directs timely, risk-based compliance investigations, partnering with Employee Relations, Legal and other key stakeholders.
