About The Position

Circle is looking for a Director of Corporate Communications to lead earnings, M&A, and all corporate news communications for the company. This role sits within the Strategy, Policy & Communications organization and operates on a flat team. The Director sets strategy and agenda for corporate news, serves as the Americas anchor for the broader communications team, is responsible for earnings communication operations and media management, and manages Circle's full NY press corps relationship. This is a New York City-based role.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related field, with meaningful in-house or agency experience.
  • Demonstrated track record at a publicly traded or pre-IPO company, with deep expertise in financial communications and direct ownership of the earnings process — including coordinating materials, managing media during quiet periods, and partnering with investor relations and legal through reporting windows.
  • Experience with M&A communications, including working across legal and finance to manage announcement timing, messaging, and media through close.
  • Experience working in or supporting AI or AI-adjacent sectors (e.g., data centers, cloud infrastructure, enterprise software), with a clear understanding of the media landscape and narratives shaping the space.
  • Established relationships with Tier 1 financial and business media, including AI and technology reporters, with a proven ability to shape narratives and manage corrections.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including earnings-quality messaging and C-suite briefing materials.
  • Strong news judgment and the ability to manage competing priorities across a fast-moving, global communications program.
  • A track record of operating with high autonomy — identifying the work, applying judgment, and moving it forward without waiting for direction.
  • Experience managing or mentoring communications professionals.
  • Familiarity with generative AI models (ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.) and prompt development.
  • Must be based in New York City.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in financial services, fintech, or digital assets.
  • Experience building or managing AI-driven communications workflows or tools.
  • Existing knowledge of blockchain infrastructure, stablecoins, and the regulatory landscape for digital assets.
  • Experience with Slack, Apple MacOS, and Google Suite.
  • Spanish or Portuguese language skills a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Setting the strategy, agenda and execution for earnings, M&A, and corporate news communications.
  • Building and deploying project teams for major moments — pulling in media relations, social, regional, and AI operations support as needed, and releasing that team when the work is done.
  • Owning all NY-based media relationships and leading senior press engagements with reporters at Bloomberg, Reuters, CNBC, WSJ, and other Tier 1 financial, tech, and crypto outlets.
  • Owning operational management and media engagements tied to quarterly and year-end earnings, including coordinating materials, managing media during quiet periods, and partnering with investor relations and legal through reporting windows.
  • Leading M&A communications from announcement through close — working across legal, finance, and leadership to manage timing, messaging, and media.
  • Serving as Americas anchor for the broader Corporate Communications team, acting as an escalation point for team questions touching corporate, financial, or regional news.
  • Backing up the Commercial Comms lead with agentic support for transfer of knowledge and action items.
  • Architecting AI-powered communications workflows to support coordinator-level earnings work and scale team capacity.
  • Collaborating with the Sr. Director, Public Affairs and Reputation Management on crisis and issues management — bringing sound judgment and protecting Circle's reputation in sensitive and high-stakes situations.
  • Modeling the team standard for independence, strategic judgment, and ownership.
