Clear StreetNew York, NY
$160,000 - $215,000Hybrid

About The Position

Clear Street is modernizing the brokerage ecosystem. Founded in 2018, Clear Street is a diversified financial services firm replacing the legacy infrastructure used across capital markets. We started from scratch by building a completely cloud-native clearing and custody system designed for today’s complex, global market. Clear Street’s proprietary prime brokerage platform adds significant efficiency to the market, while focusing on minimizing risk, redundancy, and cost for clients. Our goal is to create a single source-of-truth platform for every asset class, in every country, and in any currency. By combining highly-skilled product and engineering talent with seasoned finance professionals, we’re building the essentials to compete in today’s fast-paced markets. The Asset Servicing Operations team is a crucial pillar within Clear Street’s Global Custody department. We own the entire lifecycle of corporate actions processing, proxy voting, prospectus delivery, cost basis, and US/foreign tax withholding. Our team moves fast, embraces data-driven workflows, and operates in tight alignment with our Product and Software Engineering squads to continuously automate and audit multi-asset processing pipelines. We are seeking a seasoned operational leader to join us as Team Lead / Director of Corporate Actions. In this role, you will act as a working manager—overseeing a high-performance squad of specialists while remaining deeply embedded in complex risk management, transaction reconciliations, and daily desk execution. The ideal candidate must possess strong, hands-on domain expertise processing both domestic and foreign/international asset servicing events, alongside fixed income and repo-related activity. You will be the final escalation point for complex lifecycle events, ensuring perfect alignment between client election instructions, stock loan positions, internal sub-ledgers, and depositories.

Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of professional financial services experience heavily focused on Corporate Actions and Asset Servicing operations within a broker-dealer or clearing firm.
  • Proven experience managing foreign/international corporate action events alongside fixed income servicing (factor adjustments, bond calls, P&I tracking) and a clear understanding of their downstream impact on repo, stock loan, and securities lending positions.
  • Advanced data evaluation and reconciliation skills; highly proficient with Excel.
  • Comfort utilizing SQL or automated data master tools to manage large transaction sets is a plus.
  • Series 7 and/or Series 99 required (or willingness to obtain within an agreed-upon timeline).
  • A true builder mentality—exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to thrive under high pressure and tight market deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and develop a team of Corporate Actions specialists.
  • Manage intraday queues, coordinate cross-training, and establish operational coverage matrices to meet strict daily depository and international market cutoffs.
  • Oversee the announcement capture, validation, and election execution for complex mandatory and voluntary corporate actions across both U.S. and foreign equity securities (including SPAC extensions, mergers, tenders, and rights offerings).
  • Ensure seamless handling of international voluntary instructions.
  • Direct the daily processing, balancing, and allocation of domestic and foreign cash dividends, optional dividends, and other corporate distributions, ensuring accurate entitlement calculations and timely credit to client accounts.
  • Manage principal and interest (P&I) cash flow movements, factor adjustments, maturities, and bond calls.
  • Partner directly with Stock Loan and Repo desks to track manufacturing payments and resolve position adjustments or payment breaks.
  • Maintain a strict control environment by overseeing the daily audit trail matching transaction files and internal ledgers against depository position sheets (DTC/BONY/Custodians).
  • Personally manage and resolve all out-of-balance breaks or position variances across global books.
  • Partner closely with internal Product and Engineering teams to build next-generation data master pipelines and test internal platform enhancements.
  • Continually identify opportunities to leverage modern automation tools, AI assistance, and innovative technology to eliminate legacy manual operational workflows.
  • Act as the primary escalation contact for prime brokerage clients and institutional desks regarding complex domestic or international elections, oversubscription tallies, fractional shares, and funding exceptions.
