About The Position

Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Corporate Accounting to lead key corporate accounting functions within a large, multi-entity organization. This highly visible leadership role partners closely with executive finance leadership and cross-functional teams to oversee financial consolidations, external reporting support, technical accounting, acquisition accounting, internal controls, and financial reporting. The Director will play a significant role in strengthening accounting processes, improving operational efficiency, and supporting the organization's continued growth through both organic expansion and acquisitions. This position is ideal for a collaborative leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building scalable accounting processes while mentoring a high-performing team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • CPA designation is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Five or more years of corporate accounting leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience with large ERP platforms and financial consolidation systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Proven leadership, organizational, and project management abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic business environment.

  • MBA or Master of Accountancy preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.
  • Direct the consolidation of financial results across multiple business units and legal entities.
  • Oversee preparation and review of consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
  • Partner with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Internal Audit, and Operations to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Lead technical accounting research and implementation of new accounting standards.
  • Manage external audit activities and serve as the primary liaison with independent auditors.
  • Support mergers and acquisitions through purchase accounting, due diligence, and post-acquisition integration.
  • Strengthen internal controls and improve financial reporting processes.
  • Develop scalable accounting procedures to support continued organizational growth.
  • Review complex balance sheet reconciliations and consolidation entries.
  • Prepare executive-level financial analyses and presentations.
  • Support debt compliance reporting and other lender reporting requirements.
  • Lead special projects, process improvement initiatives, and system implementations.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop members of the Corporate Accounting team.
