About The Position

Serves as a critical business advisor and partner to the General Manager and business unit leadership team. Provides sound business counsel and enables the strategic vision of the business unit by advocating spending as an investment, not an expense. Effectively balances business unit investment needs/ROI with division/corporate investment needs/ROI. Interprets root causes to issues and actively seeks solutions to problems through sound financial analysis. Brings the numbers to life through forecast accuracy and presentation of financial information to non-financial audiences. Focuses on business strategies to achieve goals rather than report outcomes. Ensures organizational alignment on key action items.

Requirements

  • BS in Finance, Accounting, or related business administration degree is required.
  • 10+ years in a financial leadership role

Responsibilities

  • Provides financial, business, and strategic insight to senior management on key business decisions facing business unit, collaborates on cross functional implications to support $1.5B in sales in a consumer facing business.
  • Ensures integrity of business unit financials; maintains sound internal controls.
  • Develops business plans, updates, and LRPs for the business unit, including supporting rationale. Ensure the business plan is sound, achievable and without any significant disconnects.
  • Provides management with periodic, concise updates.
  • Effectively presents financial and non-financial information to division and corporate leadership.
  • Provides financial counsel for proposed acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, external agreements, and/or licensing opportunities.
  • Provides process and finance technical leadership to team; develops staff.
  • Leads cross-functional teams in formation, evaluation, and assessment of financial results and their implications.
  • Challenges current thinking through thoughtful analysis of key issues and trends
  • Simplifies complexity of issues by highlighting variances and facilitating an understanding of key business drivers and future decision making
  • Applies financial/accounting rigor to processes and procedures; understands business unit market dynamics and resulting cross-functional financial implications; evaluates and makes known business risks and opportunities based on financial analyses.
  • Monitors the progress/performance/efficiency/effectiveness of the organization and makes recommendations.
  • Advises DVP in areas of profit maximization, resource prioritization, and day-to-day operations.
  • Anticipates market activities that can impact business.
