$175,000 - $215,000Onsite

About The Position

Talkiatry is seeking a Director of Content Marketing to build our content engine from scratch. You will be responsible for crafting a holistic content strategy that establishes Talkiatry as the authoritative voice on mental health. The Director of Content Marketing will build this from the ground up: the strategy, the channels, the workflows, and the team. This is a role for a content entrepreneur, someone who sees an unclaimed space, moves with urgency to claim it, and scales what works. You'll be the first dedicated content leader at Talkiatry, reporting directly to the CMO. You'll have real ownership over how we show up across blog, newsletter, SEO, organic social, video and emerging owned channels. You will build the team around you as the function matures. We need a storyteller who is genuinely passionate about this mission and can translate our clinical credibility, patient empathy, and differentiated approach into content that earns trust, grows an audience, and drives organic growth at scale.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of content marketing experience, with a meaningful track record in consumer-facing content (B2C is a hard requirement; B2B experience a strong plus)
  • Proven builder: you've started content programs from scratch and scaled them, you haven't just inherited and optimized someone else's work
  • Strong people management experience, with a track record of hiring and developing high-performing content teams
  • Exceptional cross-functional management skills, you know how to align, influence, and partner across marketing, clinical, product, and exec stakeholders without formal authority
  • Deep, hands-on expertise across multiple content disciplines: SEO, long and short-form editorial, social media, and video
  • A genuine embrace of AI and modern content tooling, you actively seek out and build workflows around tools that help you move faster and do more
  • Familiarity with tools such as AirOps, HubSpot, Webflow, Iterable, Substack, Profound, Figma, YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram
  • Strong editorial judgment with the ability to translate complex or sensitive subject matter, mental health, clinical care, healthcare access, into content that is accurate, empathetic, and compelling
  • Player-coach mentality: you lead from the front and you're not too senior to create
  • Genuine passion for mental health, healthcare access, or mission-driven work—and the belief that what Talkiatry is building matters

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute Talkiatry's end-to-end content strategy across blog, SEO, organic social, video (long and short form), email, and emerging owned channels
  • Establish editorial standards, brand voice, and scalable storytelling frameworks that hold across every channel and every format
  • Build the content roadmap from cold start to compounding: identify gaps, prioritize by impact, and execute with speed
  • Align content strategy with GTM, growth, product marketing, clinical, and brand teams to ensure content is embedded, not siloed
  • Own SEO content strategy end-to-end
  • Build a publishing engine that drives consistent traffic growth and improves Talkiatry's authority in the mental health space
  • Develop a channel-specific approach to organic social across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn, growing audience and engagement with content that's native to each platform
  • Leverage tools including Profound, HubSpot, Webflow, and Substack to manage distribution and measure performance
  • Develop content to improve citation, sentiment and gain market share in a quickly developing AEO/GEO landscape
  • Translate Talkiatry's clinical credibility, patient outcomes, and differentiated model into narratives that resonate with both consumer and provider audiences
  • Partner with clinicians, executives, and the product team to surface stories worth telling and build the platforms to tell them
  • Develop thought leadership content that positions Talkiatry as the defining voice on accessible, high-quality mental health care
  • Lead the adoption of AI and automation tools, including AirOps and others, to accelerate content production, research, and distribution without sacrificing quality
  • Build scalable content workflows that allow a lean, high-output team to operate across multiple channels simultaneously
  • Hire, develop, and lead a team of 2–4 content professionals spanning SEO writing, content creation, editorial, and video production, supplemented by freelancers and agency partners
  • Be the player-coach: lead strategy, manage the team, and roll up your sleeves to create when the moment calls for it, this is a builder role, not a delegator role
  • Manage cross-functional relationships across growth, product marketing, clinical, design and operations
  • Define the metrics that matter for organic growth, traffic, rankings, social reach, engagement, content-influenced conversions, and report on them with clarity
  • Build a performance culture on the content team from day one: data informs decisions, not just reports
  • Track content performance, SEO trends, and audience insights to continuously refine strategy

Benefits

  • medical, dental, vision, effective day 1 of employment
  • 401K with match
  • generous PTO plus paid holidays
  • paid parental leave
